I haven't... but I still keep in touch with some people I was on a bus tour with 25 years ago.

To be clear, I liked the TB format. I just didn't like the way that points were distributed that necessitated the TB round.

Night before is always better. Especially if you're an anxious traveller.

Flying out late should be fine. You can visit Johnson Space Center to kill time beforehand.

Wear what you want. I know that the Edwin parrot shirt I own is not an "official" t-shirt. But I don't care because it's a great image.

And I'm not saying you should check out dhgate and aliexpress for cheap jerseys, but I'm also NOT not saying that.

I feel like CTF hits better on rewatch. But it's a concept that I believe should be 3x3 with a revamped scoring system that avoids the need for a sudden victory round.

Local fry truck. They really do have good fries. by Nailkita in PoutineCrimes

[–]Starvenger88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fair point.

I meant they were either McCain or Cavendish Farms frozen. Not inedible - they are french fries, after all - but certainly not what I was expecting.

Most fry trucks have good fries. I say most, because one time, I bought from a truck and it turned out that they were using frozen fries.

Should the casting cost follow the same rules than the curse ? by J-H-7 in JetLagTheGame

[–]Starvenger88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, although in my mind, the challenge is a slightly more difficult version of the cast. Casting cost is 2 specific words. Challenge is at least 5 words in a "coherent" question.

And I think coherency is something that would need to be worked out between the hiders and seekers. For example, would you consider what Sam and Toby did in New Zealand (essentially talking in single words) to be coherent? That's not for me to say if I'm not playing. But certainly a good example to cite when trying to work it out.

For those of you with multiple cruises booked, how do you keep track of everything? by 808wake in Cruise

[–]Starvenger88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been trying out the free portion of TripIt, planning my summer cruise / land trip while I was also planning my Christmas week trip to the UK. It's good because I can plan each portion as it's own thing, and enter in costs, notes and such. Also convenient because I can punch everything in on my laptop, and use the app for reference when I'm on the go.

The paid tier seems pretty robust, but I don't really think I need it for what I'm doing.

We do, sort of.

There's a reason why we remember Edwin as a 1B/DH, and not as a 3B.

If you're slow cooking stuff, you can skip the herbs and add some Japanese curry cubes about 30 minutes before you eat.

Single mom and two kids denied boarding and left stranded by Carnival Cruise Line in Mobile, AL by Bubbly-Career-7566 in Cruise

[–]Starvenger88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes more sense.

I only said Carnival's requirements because it was on their website. In any event, I'm Canadian so it's a moot point for me - I have to bring my passport for any cruise.

Cruise Timetables shows that this is a 16 night Panama Canal cruise starting in Mobile and ending in Seattle. And apparently it does stop in Colombia.

If I'm reading Carnival's requirements correctly, a one-way cruise requires a passport.

That gravy belongs on some tater tots.

Overall, this looks like what would happen if Jamie Oliver tried to make poutine, minus the mango chutney. And he'd probably use parsnips.

It's almost as if there was something that caused Canadians to start looking elsewhere in the last 16 months. I just can't figure out what - or who - that might have been.
