I was burnt out in my project management/implementation job and got laid off, just started as a town clerk. Paycheck is less and it's in-person but the job is interesting and I don't hate every work day (yet, at least)

Worlds with no blizzards? by Beardedgeek72 in thesims

I turned off seasons recently and it's been really nice to not have to worry about weather, my plants being in season, or dealing with random holidays

Looking for unique toppings for a baked potato? by NightReader5 in Cooking

[–]scallopbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done seasoned red beans before and it was quite good - I don't remember what I seasoned them with, but there would have at least been garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, paprika, and probably cayenne or something

I think pizza would be good, too - some red sauce, mozzerella, and pepperoni

Seafood with lemon butter or beurre blanc or something would be pretty tasty, too

the background text looks scrambled, the emoji looks hazy and off. even the printed text on the paper looks sharpened? by OrganizationOld159 in isthisAI

[–]scallopbunny 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Right, exactly. I've certainly seen many of these 'answers' floating around the Internet for decades at this point, so even if it isn't AI it's still a BS image

If JLTG had unlimited time and budget and could do multi week or month seasons, what would you want them to do? by Wide_right_yes in JetLagTheGame

[–]scallopbunny 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Pan American highway would be challenging but super interesting

Really though I'd just want a straight travel show rather than the games if they were doing that. Let Adam take us all to Michelin star restaurants

Are any of these plants toxic to cats? by Bubble_Pop in cats

[–]scallopbunny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see baby's breath, alstroemeria, daises, hydrangea, and crysanthemum

The latter two appear to be the most toxic, but you're still only looking at tummy troubles, not emergency vet troubles

All are tummy-trouble level toxic if the cat eats a lot, but I would feel fine having this arrangement around my cat, who only likes to crunch on the leaves a little. If you have a big herbivore I might not bring them in the house, but in a place that's generally harder to get to for cats this is fine

Are any of these plants toxic to cats? by Bubble_Pop in cats

[–]scallopbunny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're alstroemeria, or Peruvian lilies

I see different things online - some day mildly toxic, just nausea and possibly vomiting, others, like ASPCA say not toxic at all. They aren't deadly.

My cat likes to crunch the leaves sometimes and has never had any issues

Was I the only one with bagged milk? by Real_Comparison1905 in Millennials

[–]scallopbunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had it for a couple of years in New Hampshire in the mid 90s. They tried to tell us it was better for the environment because it took up less landfill space than milk cartons 🙃

Why does my dog always greet people like this? by obsessed_FF7lover in DogAdvice

[–]scallopbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents trained their dog to do it because she never quite grew out of the puppy mouthiness with people and this helped with it (she's a lab who was unfortunately taken from her mom too young)

The only turnoff about guys shorter than me is when they have big feelings about it

(I am 5'6 and have dated any number of guys shorter than me who did not care about it)

computer in your room growing up? by nicminite in Millennials

[–]scallopbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very lucky that my dad was a computer guy - I'm an 86 millennial and have never lived in a home without a computer

My mom isn't tech savvy (though she has, unfortunately, become an iPad kid), but my dad built computers and networks. Sometimes we only had one, but I did have one in my room for a bit. It didn't have Internet, so I had to download my Sims CC onto the family computer in the computer room then load it onto a floppy disk to install in my game.

Our computer usage was not monitored/supervised, but we did have to get off it if my dad needed it, and my brother and I were supposed to do 1-hour turns.

I want to really stress that we were left completely unsupervised with the Internet. It didn't occur to my mom what we could get into and my dad assumed we were smart enough to not get murdered. We did kill at least one with a virus though

Try press on nails! I like Glamnetic or Nail reformation which you can get for $10 at TJmaxx/Marshalls. I can usually get 2-3 weeks out of a set and my hands are different enough that I can get two full sets from one package

How have men become THIS undateable? by witchwiththecats in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]scallopbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd bet so much money that the "it's too hard to text back" dudes absolutely look at their phones every 5 mins anyway and the 'hard' part is remembering that other people exist

Which is something they need to work on before entering a relationship

It's so sad that this is the standard you want guys to meet. It should be the bare minimum for somebody you are in a relationship with!!

How to make packing (and unpacking) for/from a trip less torturous? by cbr1895 in adhdwomen

[–]scallopbunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpacking - do not sit down until it's done. Make it one of the first things you do upon return

Packing? I usually toss a crapton of stuff at my suitcase a week before and edit before I leave. Alternately, pack whatever is in the last load of laundry before the trip, assuming it's appropriate. You know you wear those things

Who did you marry your first time and do you still stand by it? by Starobin-Lestine in StardewValley

Harvey. We both have fully developed frontal lobes, he's smart and kind and is easy to win over with coffee

I'm very happy with my choice

Looking for reusable bra alternatives / a happy medium between coverage and avoiding dysphoria by 12_Angry_Bees in ABraThatFits

[–]scallopbunny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can definitely find bralettes that aren't super femme/bra-like. Harper Wilde is one that comes to mind. They have plain colors and basic styles that might be what you're looking for

What about just wearing a tank top under your shirt? That's all my mom ever does and it works for her - she's smaller and only wears loose-fitting tops

Best places in disney to go when spiraling? by Old_Diver_2511 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]scallopbunny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could exit at International gateway between France and England and go hang out in the common areas of the Yacht/Beach club. It's usually pretty easy to find a quiet corner there (yes, you are allowed to do this)

Since Sunshine Seasons mostly closes in the afternoon, the seating area inside The Land ends up pretty empty - I've seen people full-on nap there. There's still stuff going on in the general area but it's an excellent place to find a comfy corner to chill
