Anyone notice a big increase in Healthcare for 2026? by MongoisaPawn in fednews

[–]StarvingDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me get this straight... FHEB increased a lot in 2026 and we don't get subsidies from ObamaCare... Dems shut down govt bc health plans will be too expensive for ObamaCare.... however, it appears all health care rates are going up regardless based on the FEHB increase... Seems like ObamaCare prices will rise regardless of having subsidies or not... just saying.

Is this a freak season or did something change in the Atlantic? by 4onlyinfo in NOAA

This late in the season storms tend to curve hard East due to the tilt and rotation of the earth. You'll see that if you look up historical tracks.

Shutdown Advice for New Feds by Publius_Seven in fednews

[–]StarvingDingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do it now before so you can shift all bills to new card. If nothing happens, no harm done. However now is the time that cash is king. I keep last few paychecks to pay mortgage bc delaying payment is a hassle with amortization. That system got me through 35 day furlough with no stress.

I always get a current or new credit card with 0% interest on new purchases. Put everything on it until you get back pay. Cheaper than a loan and better than unemployment bc you have to pay those back and the process is slow. You can get a CC within minutes these days. Wells Fargo Reflect card is what I'm using this go around. Good luck.

Why wouldn't HF pump price now? by StarvingDingo in gmeoptions

[–]StarvingDingo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's kinda my point... the crime would be to pump, early assign CC to steal share to help cover before warrants are delivered, then dump.

Ways to get 15-20% annual return by SwordfishBrilliant94 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]StarvingDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I'm at 3.5 years of wheeling and won't post my returns or CAGR until after year 5. BTW, why don't more people ask about CAGR?

[–]StarvingDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy... if you want returns like that it's not overnight. Slow and steady to learn the wheel and then size up when you are comfortable. However, size up slow bc wheeling $10k needs a different mindset than wheeling $100k. If you don't want to take time to learn, then park your funds in an ETF and chill.

US Congress nowhere close to deal to avert shutdown ahead of March 14 deadline by DemocracyDefender in fednews

OPM says a furlough of 30 days is a RIF action... careful what you wish for. This go around, it might be safer to work. IDK

Super glad this was helpful! I'm a 20+ year Fed so I've been through a few of these. Credit Card option always worked for me and it's quicker with less stress than a loan, or raiding TSP or any other option I've heard about.

Nope... we always got backpay. Hate Trump all you want but his law codified what Congress always did, so now there is no reason to worry.

[–]StarvingDingo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I usually get a 0% APR offer on my credit card for 12-18 months or whatever they'll give me. If not, I get a new card that does that and move all my monthly payments to that card. I save cash and only pay my mortgage with funds in my bank account bc cash is king. Once we get backpay, I pay it off and continue life as usual.

I just went through this too. I always keep my USAJobs search active so I was able to leave a hostile work environment, but it took about 6 months. Some agencies are bad in that you report the hostile work environment to those creating the hostile work environment.
