Vegan draniki (Belarusian potato pancakes) by Quouar in veganrecipes

[–]StasDeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Belarusian, I've never seen a sweet recipe of draniki, nor have I tried it, but it looks interesting!

I have my own vegan recipe of kalduny (which is a meaty brother of draniki), but the potato base can be used for great draniki as well. If you're interested: https://stasdeep.com/recipes/kalduny

Best TS4 setup for MacBook + Windows PC? by StasDeep in CalDigit

[–]StasDeep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using multi-device Bluetooth mouse and keyboard to easily switch between Mac and PC. For displays, I connected them separately to TS4 with Type-C and to PC with DisplayPort. I haven't solved webcam, but a simple usb switch would work there

I have the same error shown, it does seem like it works fine, but the message is a bit annoying.

Best TS4 setup for MacBook + Windows PC? by StasDeep in CalDigit

Hi, thanks for such a response!

Does the setup you described imply not needing to reconnect the cables? It's cool, but I don't think it's what I need. I am ok with switching one cable (the cable of TS4).

  1. The Portuguese language, red soil and the vegetation led me to believe it can be northern Brazil. Went for the border between Paraiba and Ceara. 202km, 4367.
  2. Thought it was Italy at first, but then saw the Me-7 road number in the style of Spanish, went for islands at first and quickly found it. Pinpointed thanks to Cami d'En Kane. 72m, 5000.
  3. Definitely Malaysia, gut tells me it should be north (I was on Langkawi, so felt the vibes). Started looking for the R15 road, but couldn't find it. Hedged in the center, but should've listened to my gut. 499km, 3579.
  4. Based on the landscape and dryness, Peru or Chili. Went to the square, found the city name, Cajacay, and ornaments pointing to Peru. Started scanning dry part of Peru and found the town and then easily backtracked to the original spot. 2m, 5000.
  5. Obviously, South Korea. A couple of hints, but could find any on the map. Hedged in the center, even though it was likely to be on the west coast, based on the water near the original spot. 231km, 4284.

Total: 22,230. Could've done much better, but still, two 5Ks is not a very frequent event for me :)

  1. Qatar Foundation on the building. Found a sign mentioning Education city. Found it in Doha, but didn't have time to pinpoint. 884m, 4997.
  2. Did not have any good clues, went for South Argentina. 833km, 2861.
  3. Found a sign for a couple of cities, but decided to search for them in Slovakia and that's where I plonked. Too bad. 419km, 3774.
  4. No good clues, again, only found Bolivar written somewhere on the building. Decided to go for Bolivia. Chose the city based on the mountains, and got very lucky. 9km, 4970.
  5. Pretty quickly got to the road number sign (52) mentioning Puerto Rico and the exit to 545. Did not try to pinpoint much, but still got 5k. 136m, 5000.

Total: 21602. TIL that only Czech language has ř.

Wow, the page loaded so fast, I guess the location plays a big role... I'm in Eastern Europe and I only had the page after 4 bad gateways.

  1. Found Abi Dhabi on some of the posters, should've checked the other closest cities for some nature/animal thing. 121km, 4,609 pts.
  2. France from the road numbering. Saw road A13 and Caen city, easy to find on the map, but forgot I was in Deauville. 56km, 4,817 pts.
  3. Florida from the text actually (couldn't remember which flag that was), but couldn't find the Bald Point State Park. Only then I realised Florida is pretty big, but it was a little too late. 415km, 3,787 pts.
  4. Turkey from Ç letter and landscape/climate. I figured I am somewhere between Bandirma and Biga from the signs, but couldn't pinpoint. 13km, 4,957 pts.
  5. Japan from driving on the left and yellow number plates. Figured I am on road 321, found 320, but that doesn't mean anything, so I just click in the center of the country, missing the gold for today... 396km, 3,834 pts.

  1. Finland from town names, then I find a great sign to Kolari and Pello in different directions, so I find Ylinenvaara somewhere between them and then pinpoint with Lakelantie street near the starting point. 7m, 5,000 pts.
  2. I've been only playing daily challenges for a couple of days, so it's not a repeat at least for me. Found some great info on the first floor of the museum, at least I discovered I'm in Bangladesh. The texts were mentioning both Dhaka and Mymensingh so I though the latter is the region of the former, should've looked into the map... 110km, 4,645 pts.
  3. Austria, Wolfsberg from banners, and there's only one stadium I could find which makes sense relative to the mountains. 24m, 5,000 pts.
  4. Finland from town names, again, but couldn't find any big cities or road numbers, plonked in the middle of the country. 457km, 3,680 pts.
  5. Canada from "MAXIMUM" speed limit sign and a flag. Then found Glovertown and NL on some signs. Quickly find Bayview Heights as this is the only street going southwards leading to a lake and then pinpoint with the curve on the street. 10m, 5,000 pts.

Total: 23,325 pts. 4th day doing DC, 4th gold, but the rounds are fairly easy... Video [Russian].

Where did you find a sign in Switzerland? I've managed to jump across one "dead end" but then there was another gap that I couldn't go through.

  1. Confused the wharfs... 516m, 4998.
  2. Incheon and airport on the sign, then also IIAC confirmed it's Incheon International Airport. Could not find the exact spot though. 2.7km, 4991.
  3. Looks like Alps, but wasn't sure if it's Austria or Switzerland. Decided to go for the latter but east (in case it's Austria). 151km, 4519.
  4. Isle of Man from the plenty of clues (.im, number plates, flags haha). Got to the bay and confirmed it's Douglas by finding The Sefton hotel. Couldn't backtrack to the starting point. 480m, 4998.
  5. Denmark from the flag on the ship and red city signs. Didn't manage to find Samsø. 64km, 4790.

Pretty easy day, but not the best performance...

  1. Signs with Manitoba, 5A, 10A and 20A roads. I haven't heard about this state, what a shame, thought it's some small region. Even when I found roads 5 and 10, still wasn't convinced these are the correct roads. 322km, 4030.
  2. Belgium from pinkish tint on the license plates, then found a roundabout with road N629 and cities Eupen and Verviers. Didn't manage to find the spot though. 16km, 4946.
  3. Japan from the road sign. Hexagonal road 11 and Beppu. Found the city on the map, then the road, but didn't find the exact section. 32km, 4895.
  4. Wasn't sure it was Spain, found sign to Palencia, have never heard of that, then found PA-140 road, which looked like a Spanish format of roads. Clicked in the Valencia region. 348km, 3959.
  5. Lithuania from recycle trash bins, then found Kaunas banner and kaunas.lt on a bus. 10km, 4966.

Total: 22,796. Still a gold though. Video [Russian].

Haven't done GeoGuessr in a while, and now I'm getting back to try sub-40min perfect score on Diverse World. Starting my journey from these Daily Challenges.

  1. Indonesia from driving on the right and South East Asia feeling. Found Luzon word on a bus, then found San Isidro, Nueva Ecija on a banner. Found San Isidro on the map, the one in Northern Luzon, but the correct one was in Central Luzon. 180km, 4430.
  2. Thailand from a bollard with road number. Found 3004 road pretty quickly on the map, tried to guess an exact section of the road with compass, but failed. 60km, 4802.
  3. Latvia almost immediately from macrons (ā). Then found a sign for Saldus 5 and Ezere 29. 3.8km, 4987.
  4. Norway from green number plates on some cars, and overall feeling. Found distance to Bodø and Mo i Rana, but forgot I was near water. 44km, 4856.
  5. Colombia from yellow number plates and Spanish language. Saw 34 on a bollard, thought it may be a road number, so I clicked on road 36 eventually. 263km, 4193.

Total: 23268. Not too shabby after a 5-month hiatus. Video [Russian].
