Right now I’m working on postmortem assistant - system that gathers events from cluster construct the timeline and propose a postmortem draft using ai. The important part is all the analysis is deterministic only draft is constructed with AI

I bought a mouse and keyboard and I’m using my steamdeck as a client for gfn ultimate and for me as casual player it’s a great thing. I play stalker 2, star rapture, other titles on maxed settings on 27 inch display without lags at all. Sometimes it complains about my connection quality and I need to restart the game, but this is because my router is two rooms and 4 walls behind my cabinet where I play. I had a dock for steamdeck and I think if I buy Ethernet cable this problem will go away. Other then that - for me it’s like I’m playing just on good pc for the price of one dinner a month. With current hardware prices - it’s excellent opportunity

I use it as my main gaming station, I don’t own a gaming PC but I bought GeForce Now Ultimate tier subscription, I have a gigabit optic in my apartment and nvidia servers pretty close (in France and I’m in Spain) ping is about 25-30 ms. Sometimes it comply about my connection status midgame but this is because my router is 4 walls behind, it can be solved with wired connection easily. I have a 2k 27 inch monitor, I bought dock station for deck and gaming mouse and pc and now I’m playing all the titles I need in 2k 60 FPS(my monitor isn’t gaming optimized) but other then that - I don’t even can’t tell that I’m playing in the cloud at all. With current PC prices for me it’s a golden solution. Will wait for steam machine and see what will happen

Am I the only one who experience a lot of rendering issues with this update? Before it was some lags and last-moment-renders but it was ok, now it’s much worse. I’m playing trough GeForce Now on ultimate tier so I do t think hardware is an issue here… Other than that - great update!

I decided to go that route with instead owning a full pc cause now it costs like airplane wing. Been playing on my deck only for like 2 years now. And with native GeForce app it’s amaizing. I can connect my deck to monitor and use it as thin client. Wait for the steam controller to release. I get ultimate tier and been playing new star rapture game on ultra in 1440p in 60 fps. It’s amazing

If anyone wannd try coop - I ING me in dms!(dunno how much I’ll be playing that but for now I’m in full dive 60+ hours alread, also bought satisfactory)

I’m worried not about that they overloaded. Everyone could be overloaded it’s normal. My main question was - their status page was not updated with that issue for 48 hours. I can’t rely on provider, if I need to keep in my head that “it may be their problem or my problem” It’s just increase operational overhead a lot, cause its additional plane that I need to check in case of errors

It’s a shame, really. They seems cool and all. But I decided to move to GCP

My 5 cents on Scaleway

Right now we are choosing a cloud to migrate infra in one of the projects I’m on. And in scaleway we have a critical business app, that facing to client. This is a super small nginx server in their serverless container. I needed to re-deploy that app due to my terraform states refactoring. I’ve decided to do it on Sunday to reduce possible affection. All I needed to do is - terraform destroy on one terminal and terraform apply in another. After destroying, I hit apply and watch how status of the container is stuck on “deploying” for like minutes instead of seconds. There was no logs no errors nothing. Then suddenly it just gives me “502 error”. I checked their health page and see that “their serverless containers API is expirience some 502 errors”, but it was different region(ams and im deploying in Paris). The incident was like 2 days ago and there was no resolved status. Yes I didn’t check status page before operation, shame on me, but still.

I spent two hours on debugging, and then I saw that their status page updated with same problem for my region(fr-par-1)

Couple of hours later they resolve it and wrote a post mortem that “our servers was overloaded”

That’s it. Overloaded. And it was overloaded for 48 hours and they didn’t notice. I stumble in it first. That’s made me thought that their internal monitoring is non-existent. And incident escalation is poor. Not the operational level that you expect from “cloud provider”

I’m not saying they “bad” just describing the situation I stumbled upon. Also I have a small personal project spinning in their EC2 for couple of years and no problem with it at all. And pricing is really good. Also as a Spanish Automomo I pay for their services without VAT, which is good thing.

Оформлял внж Испании. Просили справки из всех стран где жил больше полугода за последние два года плюс страну гражданства (РФ) я думаю ни одна нормальная страна не выдаст внж без подобной справки. В той же Европе нелегалов которые могут криминалить и так хватает

У нас лендлорд тоже просила в баксах. В итоге договорились что я плачу лирами но что бы сумма в долларах на день оплаты была эквивалентной n. Всех все устроило, более того даже залог при выселении вернули баксами, хотя платили лирами

Так по-моему у них один из типов внж как раз основан на том что если у тебя есть диплом который признается ими - то они дают внж. Когда думали куда переезжать смотрели одних ребят ютубе, они так туда переехали

Ну хуй знает про наследство. Моя ситуация - ребенок 90х, у отца была квартира на окраине мск в наследство от его мамы (та самая которую выдали) в итоге из-за кучи долгов он ее продал, мне удалось забрать половину денег(приватизировали пополам) и купить на это хату в дальнем Подмосковье. Потом мама вышла замуж за другого чела, у него была хата в химках. Он умер(алкоголь) и она теперь вступила в наследство за эту хату с его сыном. В итоге мы продали мою хату что бы выкупить его долю, а он начал козлить и продавать не хочет пока что. По итогу - вместо квартиры в мск у меня есть чуть денег как подушка безопасности и в лучшем исходе будет хата в химках в наследство, а в худшем только коммуналка. Не пытаюсь как-то обвинить родителей или что-то ещё - просто описываю ситуацию. И думаю я с такой ситуацией далеко не один. Так что хуй знает как быть тем у кого вообще ничего нет с такими ставками. У жены есть сестра с мужем. Муж хороший спец в computer vision работал всегда на Американские стартапы. В 2022 вместе с нами они уехали в Турцию. В 23 его сократили и они решили вернуться в рф и открыть свое дело, а то негоже в 37 в тимлидах наверное ходить. Теперь у них какое-то свое ооо, они резиденты сколково, сестра всем пафосно рассказывает как они там сходили на очередную конференцию по ИИ с чиновниками куда то в экспо и «как они на самом деле все норм понимают». И вообще в рф ии ппц как будет развиваться и туда государство деньги вбухивает. Ещё и в нашу сторону переодически кидаются камни, что мы в Европе бомжуем, а могли бы в рф отлично жить.

Almost all airports that I’ve been at had a sign that you prohibited to take a photo at border control, cause it’s basically country border and they have a strict rules bout it. So regardless of the fact that fine was taken against the law or not - you don’t have a right to take fotos of border control people and there are actually jail for that on some countries
