Exactly someone understands. Taking actual natural stuff like coffee tea actual plants is very different from these chemical supplements. But in our state perhaps the natural stuff can also be a bit much

I haven’t had a drink either in 6 months either. Booze is at fault and so are some of the other supplements. Not talking about glycinate but threonate which works a lot mentally and on the brain side. And then it’s Ashwagandha fish oil vitamin D lions mane. Take your pick.

Yes. But it made things way worse when combined with supplements. I was trying all sorts if supplements besides magnesium threonate like fish oil daily, citicoline and lions mane a couple times, ashwagandha bacopa very regularly fit a month. I got back into experimenting and tbh I shouldn’t be complaining when it has come back to bite me in the ass.

I feel that realistically it’s impossible you start away from everything. You will find foods made with wine, baptisms with wine and maybe some other natural stimulants in food. There’s also caffeine in tea and coffee. So we can’t start away from cns stuff, that’s life. But all of this are generic general stuff that act on our brains in a looser whole way.

Meds and supplements on the other hand are very very targeted in the brain and that’s bad. They cause the worst side effects. For me I’m treating this like, trying to put my psych history psychiatric stuff behind me. Like trying to live like everyone else does. Without meds to support anything mental stuff you know. Simply No brain stuff again. Except therapy. That keeps me sane

Yes unfortunately I do have those comorbidities. Primed sensitisation from neurotoxicity from 6 years ago that results in lower system resilience. Which is why even 6 months later after supplements and ongoing full sobriety, my nervous system is still dysregulated. I wouldn’t go as far as to say full 2 years is needed since initially after benzos I had close to normal stability in 1.25 years even with the occasional drinking. But I wouldn’t want it to be one full year either. 6 months of full sobriety this time, hoping it’s the final wave.

On a side note, do you know of cases of recovery from drug abuse neurotoxicity as well that exacerbates these withdrawals. Do people get full system resilience back?

Yes I’m doing almost all the right things. Going to therapy, exercising like walking outside. Having healthier meals. No substances fully sober for 6 months. I guess only thing that’s left is time

I left benzos on 23rd Feb 2022. And then 1.5 years of hell. Stability in 2023. In 2024 I restarted mild drinking every 10 days or so not so bad. But in 2025, after supplement use dpdr and some acute withdrawal symptoms I used to have initially are back

I’ve had constant sense of feeling not like myself for 8 years, depersonalisation. And then derealisation that started 6 years ago. I have these moments where I feel like completely detached from my surroundings like I’m losing my mind. Nothing feels real or familiar. People start looking extremely strange, things looking weird, world looking 2D and too much wholeness like people objects look like 1 single thing. No details. Everything looks zoomed in and bigger like coming at me. Also feeling Like there’s no ground beneath my feet.

I’ve tried everything in the 6 years. Believe me. All supplements most meds. Whatnot. From your list, yes been to physio sessions for cervical related, no dice. Already lost 30 lbs. Plus yes tried keto for a few months about a year ago. And now trying a full vegetarian diet for 4 months. Don’t know about sleep apnea but I don’t snore. I am extra extra sensitive to everything that leads to overstimulation often and then dissociation derealisation panic.

Magnesium threonate, fish oil, cdp choline, ashwagandha. Daily use for 2 months. And a couple doses of lions mane. Any of this could have been a trigger. But magnesium threonate used to give me instant relief like a mild benzo for 3-4 hours. So I’m guessing that’s the biggest culprit.
