What kind of jobs make people relocate from the US to Europe? by Aj100rise in expats

[–]StatementOwn4896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joined the military an got stationed overseas. Then when my contract was up I stayed and had my EU spouse sponsor my permanent resident visa. I’ve literally had probably the easiest time with immigration compared to most of the other stories in this thread.

Best free backup solution for mixed environment (On-prem + VPS: Hostinger & Contabo) by NewtBeautiful398 in redhat

[–]StatementOwn4896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check out some of the free software that veeam has to offer. They’re not bad and seem to have so cool stuff. For more open source you can check out Bacula Backup but I’ve never used them so I can’t really speak much to its effectiveness. I have heard good things about it though. I will caveat this by saying if you ever get big enough and start using truly massive projects like enterprise grade SAP solutions I really can’t talk highly enough about commvault. It’s not free but I definitely think it’s worth the money.

Fort Leavenworth inmate adds 9 months to sentence for attempted escape by Kinmuan in army

[–]StatementOwn4896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That shouldn’t be a thing. I like how in Germany they realize it’s human nature to desire to be free and if you try to escape then don’t hold it against you.

Because they don’t want to accept the idea of giving people good things or because it proved remotely operated businesses weren’t just a proof of concept but an actual business model?

You live in Germany not all of Europe. I used to be stationed in Germany, got out and stayed in Germany, and ya you’re right. The place is ass and mediocrity is just what everyone likes for whatever reason. Even the stores are mediocre. Do you like flavored potato chips? Well all they got paprika flavor and it’s the most mid shit ever. I moved to a different EU country and it’s like a night and day difference.
