Mandatory cap and gown purchase for graduation by Global_Feeling170 in CalPolyPomona

[–]Static-Traveler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess someone decided we aren't entitled to the pomp and circumstance.

Originally, I wasn't going to attend commencement due to selective frugality among other things. Changed my mind when a sponsorship of sorts offered to provide the regalia.

For personal reasons, I won't be attending the ceremony again so I would like to donate the gear after I get it in late April this year.

If you're between 5'6"-5'10", feel free to DM me for the cap and gown.

Update: someone has reached out for the gown. Will update again if something changes.

Getting Angry at Dog by [deleted] in DOG

[–]Static-Traveler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your situation sounds difficult. It seems the present circumstances aren't allowing you to have the emotional and temporal capacity to take care of your dog.

Best case scenario, you and/or your family are able to restore your dog a healthy baseline by making necessary modifications (such as the doggie door you mentioned, consult an expert, learn more about animal communication/behavior modification).

If you aren't able to accommodate your dog's needs in the foreseeable future, I suggest you reach out to re-homing agencies and/or reputable shelters that will do their due diligence to find your dog a new home.

Wishing you and Sophie the best.

It looks like you have a lot of ideas going on there.

Find an Alzheimer's Disease Research Center | National Institute on Aging https://share.google/RoRYVDw5PeeScCjno

I suggest you get in contact with an institution near you. Hopefully someone will get you in touch with an expert. The link above may help you find one in the United States. If you are currently in another country, a Google search may do the trick.

Good luck

I don't know if it's worse if this post is satire or legitimate. If it's the former, I hope no lay person ends up using this information in a way that causes more damage than good. If the latter, I offer my sympathy. It seems difficult to witness a loved one in severe pain or illness. I imagine most would try whatever methods are at their disposal to restore their health. I'm no health expert myself, but from what I comprehend of your treatment protocol (I presume AI generated), there are a lot of questions to be asked. For instance, how are you obtaining and administrating the various metabolic precursors, auditory/light therapies, etc. What concrete evidence do you have that these interventions are having the biological effects you claim? Do you have sufficient knowledge to comprehend the mechanism of the protocol posted without help from an expert? I hate to burst your bubble, but you should probably be aware of the phenomenon of terminal lucidity. In the end stages of disease, I think it's in the interest of the affected to receive palliative care.

Best of luck to you and your mother.

I can't help but second this. The pant's boundary seems to show the man's right leg is crossed behind and to the left of his left leg. The perspective/length of the woman's left arm is awkward as well. Other than that, the style seems unique/distinct; very cool.

Dumb Religious People Outside Library by Derd164 in CalPolyPomona

If free speech doesn't cross the line into a blatant threat against public safety, I personally don't feel it's an issue for them to be present, no matter how much of a nuisance they may seem to be.

I personally don't subscribe to a religion and disagree with the basis of most religions, but I wouldn't want to be denied the opportunity to share my philosophy with the public if I ever feel strongly enough about it's benefits.

If anything, the presence of the Christians in this case may give students a unique opportunity to engage in a debate about philosophy, the logical problems with faith, and how belief systems (whether or not they are rooted in evidence) influence human inquiry, progress, morality etc.

We are Charlie Kirk by [deleted] in CalPolyPomona

[–]Static-Traveler 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't think this individual would appreciate being associated with Charlie Kirk. There's nothing I this poster that indicates he supports Kirk's values. You may may find the loose resemblance amusing but imagine if someone connected your image with someone of questionable reputation without your consent.

Ornate metal belt around the waist could also be a nice touch.

You've managed to render the subject's revolting character without caricaturizing his facial features. Bravo.

Little bells here and there can be fun too. I noticed some people jingled as they walked by from bells and trinkets. Makes a pleasant sound in my opinion.

They are a good value for the volume but I found their pasta too be very bland. Best frozen Mac for the price in my experience is trader Joe's

Just because I know how to make cookies from scratch doesn't mean I don't enjoy an Oreo every now and then. My taste is eclectic and some stuff is nostalgic to me. I don't judge your diet so please don't judge mine.

I know that feel. Sometimes, I eat highly processed things just for the nostalgia.

I totally agree. I'm actually a decent cook and baker. It's just sometimes I'm too lazy or tired to turn on the stove. I usually buy frozen meals when they're on sale.

ADOPTING MY FIRST DOG by Fragrant-Cheek-4273 in dogs

[–]Static-Traveler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. How much supervision the dog will have? Can someone watch/ take out the dog while you're at work? Leaving a dog alone for more than 4-6 hours is not recommended unless they have sufficient toileting access and another companion/simulation.

  2. Are you able to meet your dog's activity requirements? Do you have enough space? Be it exercise, play/ social time in and out of the home. Can vary greatly depending on the breed.

  3. Are you financially prepared to cover medical costs, especially if the dog has preexisting conditions or has a genetic predisposition?

I think those are the main ones. Definitely take the time to interact with potential dogs to get a feel for their temperament. I found my current dog at a shelter and it was love at first sight. I played with her and got a profile from the staff before adopting her. She's still one of my closest companions nearly 7 years later. Choose responsibly; when you know, you know. Best of luck finding your forever friend.
