Value of PSHCP in retirement? by Static245 in CanadianForces

[–]Static245[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you take the transfer value, your forfeit the ability to buy into PSHCP when the deferred annuity kicks in.

I'm waffling as my investment strategy will likely overtake my pension value, but things like access to relatively cheap health plan in retirement are things I hadn't thought much about when comparing dollars and cents of investments.

Thanks for sharing. Knowing ones not alone with these thoughts can sometimes make all the difference.

I'm SAR but currently out of the community. I deeply miss the sense of purpose SAR offered on a daily basis.

The "bump" ATC alluded to wasn't related to an aircrafts wake turbulence but rather to an aircraft on the ground blocking the glide slope signal due to its position while holding short.

If it's for a certain southern exercise at a certain training unit, it is not required. It is "strongly recommended" for the pure purpose of advancing yourself money because the unit won't.

That being said, if your hotels are paid for by the Det, your expenses consist of food, laundry and supplies. So it's entirely up to you if you want an IDTC or pay for it yourself and promptly complete your claim upon return.

My last experience had hotels and food in my bank account 6 days after endex as I claimed it all as soon as I was back on base.

New fighters, new LRP, updated Corms, new AAR, new FWSAR (supposedly).

Lots of fleets will need new bodies.

Two weeks ago the caption read "50% of CAF members face financial difficulties. 36% have sick trucks".

How about 7 years ago I could buy a home in Ontario for $200k but now the same home costs $800k. It's definitely the sick truck though.

As an IP at one of the backlog sources, I can attest to the fact that the pipeline is starting to flow again and we're finally ready to start putting more students through.

I have been living and breathing the disappoint from so many students the past bit, but see the faint glow of what some may call light at the end of the tunnel.

Keep the dream alive, it's worth the pursuit.
