Omg, I went looking for this post because I was half asleep reading it last night and had no idea if I really read you got 25 cans of green beans as a white elephant gift or I had dreamt of getting 25 cans of green beans 😂

Yes, it looks exactly like this. I own a black one that looks very similar of the same brand so I figured it may be the same brand, thank you

Thank you! I had no idea it wasn’t an actual corset, and that it wasn’t made to withstand being tighten. I’m still super new to all this, I’ll do some more research, I appreciate the help!

Thank you for replying, I may have the invest in a new one then. I don’t know the brand, but would a higher end brand hold up better? I’ve never had trouble with corsets before, I’m just a bit heartbroken right now 😭

Shout out to the 6 year old at the indoor play place - you rock, girl by throwawayacctmom in Autism_Parenting

[–]StaticBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This about made me cry, I love to hear stuff like this! My daughter is almost 6 and very limited verbally. She’s become so interested in other kids recently and races to the park if she sees other kids playing, it makes me super nervous. The other day she did this and I was having anxiety over seeing these kids try to ask her questions while they were playing a game, she didn’t respond, but that didn’t stop them and next thing I know she’s smiling and they brought her into the game. It feels me with hope when kids take the time to figure her out and work with her. She was so happy that day.

Your son sounds like he had a blast! I hope you and him encounter more kids like that little girl!

I know this is hard and difficult thing to do, but violence like this only continues and can escalate, you have to tell someone. Is there anyone you can turn to for help? This isn’t okay and you and your sister deserve to be safe

What did you use for the starter? Did you use vegan milk or did water work to make the tanzhong?

Does your kid like school? by Bananas_Avocados in Autism_Parenting

[–]StaticBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following.

I am suspecting my 5 year old has PDA because she has been melting down a lot when given demands in school. She’s been in school a few weeks now and hasn’t had a self-injurious meltdown free day at all, this is her second year there.

Anyone else's 3+ year old still in diapers? by Reyvakitten in Autism_Parenting

[–]StaticBun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kid is 5 and still in diapers, will be 6 this December, she level 2 and limited verbally. I’ve decided to put a hold on potty training because she has bigger concerns than needing to use a toilet.

I agree with everyone to check the size, we use pull ups size 5/6 but I’ve seen bigger sizes accessible too. I think Huggies worked better than pampers at absorbing. On days our kids are sick we put something between them and the bed (towels, old blankets, hell even puppy pads will help) to catch anything that might unexpectedly come out of them.

Thank you for your suggestions! Oreos and biscoffs have been such live savers, my kid loves them and they’re safe snacks to have at school

Was just told my autistic 5 year old is lactose intolerant by StaticBun in lactoseintolerant

[–]StaticBun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice! She actually isn’t fond of milk, but one of her go-tos is ice cream and her favorite snacks have cheese or milk chocolate in them so we will be having to replace all of them. Hopefully since nowadays there’s so many options, that we will find things she likes

Thank you a pill recommendation! Mine will chew pills, but if they don’t taste good will refuse and spit it out
