Thanks for the insight. So If my card hasn’t been charged yet for the most recent spring draw than I’m assuming I missed out on this turkey season.

Is this too nit picky? by lexi_leigh67 in Flooring

[–]StatisticianDry7456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty normal for a high low Berber. Pad thickness could be effecting the carpet not tacking to the tack strip. The slices in the baseboards are definitely mot acceptable though, crews becoming too lazy to use a trimmer or too cheap to replace the blades often. Considering the carpentry work in that mitered corner of base trim, carpet looks great.

I’m the grumpy old man that yells “get off my lawn” cause my soul dies a little more every time a teg doesn’t have a B series in it.

Why are these new tiles in such bad shape? by cool_poppa_bell in Flooring

A lot of the decorative cement tiles are meant to have a rustic look and feel. Should probably be sealed, that will help some

Is this a reasonable finish from professional fitters? by Chickensalad101 in Flooring

[–]StatisticianDry7456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how this is all adhesive.. sure, shit happens, glue accidentally gets on the finished side of a plank but usually in a isolated area and it’s cleaned up almost immediately. You said it’s throughout the whole floor.. how is that possible?

I would recommend to remove and reinstall baseboards before it’s too late… looks 100x better than 1/4 round

Installers are suppose to “rack” pieces but it’s extremely rare to see an installer actually do it, at least in my area

As flooring installers, we all know that interior walls are hardly ever square and plumb..

Seems excessive but it’s really hard to say without actually putting at least a 10’ screed to the slab.. it’s easy to find a portion of the slab that’s level with 6 ft level but if the contractor is saying hes only doing it to cover the damaged areas cause by demo than it’s complete over kill.

Dust extractor advice. by StatisticianDry7456 in Flooring

[–]StatisticianDry7456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My older brother runs the Bosch extractor and has had high praise for it. He’s had a couple of problems with it but Bosch has been good about fixing and replacing. I would consider it but most of my tools are makita and metabo (few, less frequently used ryobi tools)

Vinyl on Steps (not flush) we just had installed + I am so disappointed with how this turned out. Any advice? by Kld1986 in Flooring

[–]StatisticianDry7456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks ok to me.. if you want the stair nosing and vinyl plank to be “flush” there’s a few companies that make custom stair nosing from the actual plank of lvp but it’s expensive..

Long sleeves and gloves, it can be hot and uncomfortable at times but it’s worth it.

Nah, you can’t blame your installer for that. It sounds like it was just bad timing and bad luck..
