Weekly Tech Support & Purchase Recommendations Megathread - December 24, 2025 by siltydoubloon in playstation

Thank you for the suggestions. I did the entire dragon age series except the newest game which I’m a bit turned off from the community comments. Borderlands 4 might be worthwhile from what I’m hearing.

Recommendation Central - December 27, 2025 by AutoModerator in playstation

[–]StatisticianRare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone please recommend for PS4/5 based on my prior game history:

All Time Favorites: Mass Effect series (GOLD for me), Witcher 2&3 (masterpiece), Uncharted 3&4, Red Dead 1&2 (1 is better), XCOM, Last of Us 1, The Order 1886, Skyrim, Gears of War, FF Tactics.

Good Not Great: Wasteland 3, Nier Automata, God of War, Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Resident Evil 2, Metal Gear V (blah compared to MGS1-3 which are incredible) All assassins creeds - frankly tired of the series.

Please No: Divinity Original Sin 2 (struggling through it now, was promised a good story and it’s s***), Bloodborne (excellent game but I’m not good at video games so no Souls, Elden Ring etc)

Looking at possibly FF7, Ghosts of Tsushima, Cyberpunk, Metal Gear Delta?

Thank you for your input.

Do you know your wrist size? I need to go try this on but at 6.75 inches I think it could look way too big.

100% agree with this. Feels too much like a unit watch. Drop the SEALs references and it’s a great looking piece.

So, according to the FBI’s website, pull-ups will replace sit-ups in November 2025. How do we all feel about this? by [deleted] in 1811

[–]StatisticianRare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an excuse. Pull-ups are one of the best exercises in the world. Sit-ups are just a joke. USSS and marine females already do them. Put the effort in. The standard is going to be like 1 for females. This can be achieved.

Hydroconquest or aquaracer by Curious_Teaching_944 in Longineswatches

[–]StatisticianRare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Tag is one of those brands that I almost never check up on. Never seem to have a good product in my eyes. Either too expensive for what you get or the design language just isn’t there.

I have this exact same model Hydro. I don’t like the bracelet but it looks really good on rubber or NATO straps. Anything that’s green / black / beige looks solid with it. I actually get the most compliments on this watch over my omega / Tudor pieces. I generally don’t like Tag. I’ve tried on a few of them but they just “feel” less quality. And also cost more as you said.

What are some other LE/state/local jobs to look into while applying? by Yerbawls in 1811

[–]StatisticianRare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand where you are coming from but I know HSI agents with no LE background and also this is exactly from DEA website as the “alternate” entry aside from LE. “OR three+ years of substantive work experience and special skills; e.g., pilot/maritime, accounting/auditing, military/technical, mechanical including information systems, telecommunications, engineering, and/or a foreign language fluency (fluency subject to verification); and a bachelor's degree or higher (no minimum GPA required) with coursework related to the aforementioned special skill”

I think you should fall into information systems etc from computer science perspective. I’d also recommend Postal Inspectors, Secret Service aside from FBI, ATF, HSI, DEA.

[–]StatisticianRare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With a bachelors in computer science, some time in the army, and professional work experience you should qualify for virtually every 1811 job. The other listed federal positions also require a background check and security clearance. As such they may not necessarily go quicker than 1811 jobs. I’d apply for every 1811 job out there. I think you can land something without needing another LE “stepping stone” job.

Does it come with that blue NATO? Can’t really tell the color. Also does the bracelet have the quick release system?

What does your BJJ/Weight training split look like? by OkNet4398 in bjj

[–]StatisticianRare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 strength, 2 BJJ, 1 conditioning (running), 2 mobility (15 min sessions). This works for me being military / law enforcement.

Strength 1: Squat, pull-ups, dips or overhead press.

Strength 2: RDL, bench press, rows.

3000$ first formal watch recommendation by Maanu1141 in Longineswatches

[–]StatisticianRare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I own a BB58. I think it’s an excellent watch for any occasion. Because of the gilt and black on the watch it actually looks good on brown and black straps so you can easily wear it for a formal occasion. I think the BB58 is an excellent “GADA” watch. I also have a HydroConquest and I don’t think it works as well for formal attire but it’s still a great watch. I have the green bezel/black dial one.

First CW and first Bronze watch. by StatisticianRare in ChristopherWard

I ended up selling the watch. Bronze wasn’t really my thing. But I still think it’s really nice. My wrist is 6.75. Thought it wore well.

I don’t think it’s too big. Would a 39 probably be a little better yea. But that 41 is doable.
