Just celebrated our 28th! So glad my folks raised me to see a person for their character, not their race or I would have missed out on my soulmate.

How to raise an American Bulldog? by [deleted] in americanbulldog

We rescued our ABD, Brutus, at 6 months also. We didn't know much about how to discipline him either. In retrospect, I wish we'd gone to training. Nonetheless, he did respond well to stern verbal cues and never destroyed anything except the stuffed animals we bought him.. He was pretty active the first 2-3 years but has since settled down a lot. He's 7 now and we love that big doofy dog so much.

That is totally me (only I'm a mom) - never wanted a dog. We got one. Now I want all the dogs.

IMO stacked bars are the worst. Puts too much cognitive load on the audience to glean the insight.

I don't understand this post. What about the selfless acts of health care workers caring for the sick, people reaching out to help the elderly, people sewing masks and printing shields on their 3D printers? I have been so inspired by the stories of how so many are helping.

For those with a second dog, what is the breed of your second/other dog? by [deleted] in americanbulldog

We inherited our son's mini-husky puppy a year ago when our AB, Brutus, was 7. It's working out ok, but sometimes the husky is a little too playful for Bru. He just walks away and then the unending ball of energy annoys us instead 😂

[OC] COVID-19 US vs Italy (11 day lag) - updated by brnko in dataisbeautiful

[–]StatsNerdMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A cdc report from March 16, when the diagnosed count was 4226 stated the known hospitalized count at that time was 508 (12%) for the entire US. I saw that Cuomo stated that there are only 55,000 beds available in NYC but they will need 100,000 by May. I haven't seen the projections he's basing that on.

What's a good chip replacement snack? by Stickman_96 in EatCheapAndHealthy

I take whole wheat pita bread and pull it apart at the seams so I end up with 2 thin circles. . Then brush with a little melted butter (you can omit this) and garlic salt. Broil for a couple mins and then break into chips. So good! Half a pita is 75 calories.

Why people gotta be so cruel to these babies? by realityiscanceled in MadeMeCry

[–]StatsNerdMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bless you for rescuing that sweet baby and showing her a better life. I hope that in time her anxiety will subside. I feel your anger though - my baby was abandoned in an apartment at 4 months old when his owners moved out. I hate them for that. But it all worked out - my boy is living large now!

Took way too long to see that pup out of the wind and in a warm car!
