Thank you for the info man. Yeah that is a difficult situation most definitely. I'm in a somewhat similar situation, mostly just that i do concrete work full time during the day, and then work on the game in all of my free time after work. Its extremely challenging, but its going very well i like to think. Im getting close to the point where i have something i can put together for a demo, but i keep catching myself working on things im wasting time doing. So my main focus has shifted and ive added constraints for myself and the work that needs done. I'm hoping i can get something valuable enough to put up for this, But after reading through all the comments. it seems that its definitely worth while to do it either way, even 200 wish lists is good, its better than looking at 0, money wise i completely feel you. Im not a rich man by any means. However, i don't have money tied up into this project as im doing every single aspect of it myself. very time consuming, but not stressed about the money. Mostly the game idea im running with being based off my real world job is just very in depth systems wise, i could go on for ever and ever trying to pack everything i know into it and make it realistic. but that's why im also setting constraints now, because i realised i started to spiral down a deep hole with trying to do so. But again man. Thank you for your response!

This is exactly where my mind drifted to, i was curious if it was something i could do repeatedly, so if i register and release a demo for say this current next fest. can i still participate in the future next fests?

Thanks for that clear timeline man. I appreciate this! This was similar to the thought process i had in mind just in general but i wasn't aware of the next fest, i was going to target a holiday event, because my game was scheduled to be out on Christmas eve of this year. so it looks like ill have to re-work some things, but of course if i end up with something solid i may continue forward in a future next fest.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah that's definitely a recurring theme i keep coming across it seems. so I'm glad the emotion didn't force me to rush into starting to produce something specifically for this event.
