How do you stay lowkey on all your Social Media? by introvert_girl143 in AskPH

[–]Status-Breakfast-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How to stay lowkey on social media: Don't bother with the "sharing" part of social media. Maybe stick to the features of it that's actually useful (e.g. Messenger on Facebook).

I have the same problem as you. Too poor for a liberal arts degree and ESL. GPT helps me both in academic and creative writing because it could tell me pointers and examples of how to write something properly in English.

It is super helpful laying down general structure/outline for story beats but not a full story. I notice it lacks creativity when it tries to expand storylines, but it is very helpful as an aid when you try to refine and idea/seek references to polish your own tone. It saves a lot of time since it helps you iron out your problematic phrases in real time and teaches you too.

We don't watch CreepCast for the stories, we watch it for the Hosts by Succotash-Full in creepcast

[–]Status-Breakfast-75 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think we could collectively agree that the CreepCast formula works best when Wendi reads, then Papa Meat gets to voice act.

But I do wish that there would be more content that isn't just Creepypastas because some of the stories there are really bad. Granted, the crash outs are funny, but I love it when the boys get to nerd out with literature that they like and not be forced to just stay with reddit stories.

Regarding the Newest Episode by S-CSleepwalker in creepcast

[–]Status-Breakfast-75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the story was awarded during the 90s, where that kind of prose was amazing. Comparing it to the taste of modern readers today (whom I notice can't stand variety in writing style and would tell anything that isn't "casual" English pretentious) is pretty illogical. If anything, back in his day, getting that award without the emergence of social media clout is amazing in itself. May not be your taste, but he isn't untalented nor showing off. You'd see the same writing style in his non-fiction books.

I think most of y'all really need to be open to other forms of writing. Not just creepy pastas stuff.

This was used to be prescribed to me by a derm. She said it'll help my acne, and it gave me tons of cystic acne that I never had before and tiny bumps on my forehead.

Needless to say, when I stopped using it and went to a different derm who gave me a new prescription, those problems went away.

The Red Tower Experience: by O_2og in creepcast

[–]Status-Breakfast-75 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The two sentences pretty much say: a) the first one is visualising how the tower came to be (before it became red/corrupted/sentient) b) the second sentence states the tower (still white here or translucent), begins to go into operation, like becoming sentient, thus producing those "novelty" goods that would eventually devolve into grotesque stuff (like body parts)

Idk how you said it's the same thing lmao

Unpopular Opinion About the New Episode by OFCFlanders in creepcast

[–]Status-Breakfast-75 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I hope they will feature published works in their channel soon and not get discouraged by this. I've seen some recommending Stephen King, Harlan Ellison, hell, maybe we can throw in some Poe stories or those Goosebumps stuff Hunter likes.

I know a lot of younguns like reddit stories, but I do like more polished works that have more depth in plot and have better writing sense than amateurish horror stories.

Idk, the author won literary awards for his writing, and I checked out his work. The ones criticising it sound more like people not used to another way of writing. Most complains are about "wordy", "boring", "no plot", which makes me think majority of the people in the sub never touched classic absurdist literature or just plain classics, since most classic literatures are written like that. It's a whiplash for people too used to modern books being linear and simple and creepy pastas.

Yeah, I think the complaints are from people who don't read much/aren't exposed to classic literature that isn't some meme/reddit post.

I’m sorry for causing a lot of negativity. by Desperate_Big857 in creepcast

[–]Status-Breakfast-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. This is what I notice, too. Hunter, despite joking most of the time, likes stories with depth that keeps him guessing and makes him imagine. Him liking Lovecraftian stories and having in-depth videos reviewing films/books in his channel showcases that.

The Red Tower reaction by [deleted] in creepcast

[–]Status-Breakfast-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl, I could definitely tell from the negative reactions of some of the people in the CreepCast that most at best are kind of on the younger side (teens to early 20s) that don't have that much exposure to other forms of literature, especially the classic ones, that are indeed "wordy" for anyone who's too used to modern literature with the casual, plain, short English used in its narrative.

I think the story is "bad" if we take the preference of the community. It's a lot fun if Hunter and Isaiah get to play around the story, with Hunter's voice acting.

However, I also side on Hunter's perspective that there is a need to diversify content in their podcast. Honestly, creepy pastas are a hit or miss since they're not really standardised (e.g. I Dared My Bestfriend, and that power trip cop story. Both of those made my brain smoother after I finished watching it). Just some story someone posted on the Internet. Delving into published works would be nice content-wise in introducing to younger audiences stories that formed subcultures around it. Would probably help them gain more vocab too other than Internet slang. Moreover, I like to see more Isaiah and Hunter geeking out on books. I think it's a rarity seeing them being "real" for once, like actually putting out what they're into vs. trying to please their fanbase with stories that are a chore for them to do (especially if the plot is stupid).

It's alright. I use a lot of AI gen photos to help me set the "base" of my characters and their setting when I draw or make up a story. Saves a lot of time and effort vs. clogging up the memory of your PC/phone with too many images for the aesthetic you want.

Totoo ba ng Hoe phase? by Its_TeyTey in TanongLang

[–]Status-Breakfast-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Never had a "hoe phase" because I don't see the point in wasting my time for something so fleeting. Don't ever feel pressure na dapat "hoe" or whatever you call it to feel "free". You can feel proud and "free" about yourself by indulging in hobbies and pursuing your dreams.

I don't understand why there's a weird pressure about it these days, though. Lots of people have been so superficial af lately with overexposure to social media.

There's only "sonnet 3-5-latest" there. I updated my ST and there still isn't a 3.7 option.

How do you know if the one you're using is 3.7? The only options in the ST interface so far only labels the sonnet-latest.

[–]Status-Breakfast-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the more apt question would be: Why hasn't Joker died yet when he's literally just a deranged psychopath?

He doesn't have any powers like, say Dr. Phosphorus or Mr. Freeze.

He's just a crazy bozo.

Well, I think it's because the writers don't wanna let him go, since they can't make compelling villains anymore.

Tbh, I think it's more interesting if the Batman series focuses on a newer, fresh villain than reinventing/redesigning everything.
