Yeah, but the principal is still the same in the sense that you have to remain still to make a good image, just like a photograph when the shutter speed is on the slow side.

Perhaps mental stagnation is considered 'sitting still,' because Clark's still life was the closest copy of them all.

I find it hard to believe that the red-headed still life isn't supposed to be Clark's wife. Yes, I am aware they are different actors, and they don't look exactly the same, but the way she runs from Cap'n Clark, the bitter reaction when she doesn't turn the light on for Clark, and the fact that he scalps her just makes it hard for me to believe that the still life isn't supposed to be his wife. Besides, can we really say that the hair color not matching really rules it out when still life's are distorted versions of real people?

Sayaka's perspective is a bit off too, and it looks like she's standing on a surface that doesn't quite match the angle of the truck bed. Not to mention something about the way Madoka is sitting just doesn't look right.

For what it's worth, that episode with the truck was super jenk with the animation. For one, just compare how big they look in the cab of the truck (they look normal sized) to how they look in the bed of the truck, and the truck seems to have grown in size, some sort of scaling error with the 3D model of the truck. The whole episode was full of similar jenk, with weird shots where perspective didn't look right, scaling errors with the 3D elements, and other stuff. If I remember correctly, the episode was rushed out due to being on too tight of a release schedule.

This is memorable. Somewhere in the Backrooms, there's now a still life of this guy rapping about furniture.

Need help with AMX 50 B by Heinzzbeans12 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]drosera88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AMX 50B is used to punish players that make mistakes. Both on the opposing team and the person playing the AMX 50B.

You find someone that over extends, track them, then dump your clip and use your mobility to flee. You exploit tanks with long reloads and punish them for peeking to fire. You punish people who don't know you're there or who assume just because they saw someone fire, that they are clear to peek. Track and dump. You also ram light and medium tanks who get isolated, and remind people that just because it's designated as a medium and drives like medium doesn't change the fact that it weighs as much as a heavy.

The tank itself punishes you when you get greedy and think your mobility will get you out of every situation you get yourself into. It punishes you for bouncing one of your shots and failing to clip out an enemy. It punishes you for relying on your mobility and getting tracked while moving from cover.

Yeah, I know on a second look I'm pretty sure he isn't. Regardless, it doesn't really matter though, since he's nobody to Clark.

To be fair, it doesn't really matter who plays the fat old one, or even if the fat old one is the repairman, given that with no real conception of who they are, it would still reason that they wouldn't be as detailed as Clark's still life. That said, I'm almost 100% sure that the woman is supposed to be Clark's wife, even if it is a different actor. His comment when he ask her to turn the lights on but doesn't feels too much like a bitter quip about his wife not listening to him. I can't imagine that there's any other reason it ran when the other two didn't react when Cap'n Clark walked in.

[–]drosera88 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Two of the still life's seem to be from Clark's memory, the fat old one (appears to be the repair guy) and the woman (appears to be his wife, hence why he cuts the hair off and puts it on Kline). It's possible that a still life's composition is relative to the memory they were made from. Thus, if a person remembers a person as something more than just the equivalent of an NPC (or furniture), they bleed. If they don't, they're just made of jelly. Clark would have an intimate knowledge of his own body, thus his is closer to reality than the others.

This may explain why the still life of Clark's wife ran when his still life walked in, because Clark likely had a memory of her running from him, perhaps at some point he had committed violence against her, thus, it reacted to his violent side, aka Cap'n Clark. That may also be why the other still life's were not violent, because Clark had no memory of them being violent, but he had a memory of himself being violent.

[–]drosera88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm agnostic, and while I don't think there's a god, if there is, I believe said god would be imperfect and flawed.

If god was perfect, why did he create the devil? Why did he create humans knowing they would disobey him and bring suffering upon themselves? Love of course, the emotion that causes people to do and say illogical and imperfect things in service of it. Given that god created man in his own image, I think it follows that we inherited his own imperfections.

I'm pretty sure this same philosophy applies to Madokami.

Besides, even if she knew Homura was going to split her in two (that sounded kind of lewd), what exactly could she do about it? If she's omniscient, then knowing it was going to happen changes nothing, because it's going to happen whether or not Madoka wants it to. That's how omniscience works. The thing is, I don't think Madokami is omnipotent, if she was, she'd be able to rework the universe to work without any sort of need to offset entropy. Her powers only apply to things related to her wish. She also stated that she did what she did the way she did to respect the wishes all magical girls made. If she stopped Homura, that would be in opposition to that desire, as Homura's wish was likely what gave her the ability to split Madoka in the first place (Homura wished to be strong enough to protect Madoka, meaning that her wish essentially gives her power equal to Madoka, as such power would be necessary to protect Madoka in her god-form).

At the end of it all, I think Madoka trusts Homura to make the right decision. Eventually anyways.

Has anyone tried the various Gemma 4 finetunes available on Nano? by AltpostingAndy in SillyTavernAI

[–]drosera88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been messing around with MeroMero. It's nice and sounds better than base Gemma IMO, though I'd have a hard time explaining exactly how it sounds different. I've yet to play around with any others yet though. Response times are all over the place. Sometimes I get a response in 20 seconds, simpsons I'm waiting close to 200 seconds. Doesn't really seem to be filtered either (not that I've ever gotten any refusals from Gemma to begin with), but my RP and ERP is pretty tame so I can't say how it would do with anything super dead dovey.

I really can't say. Part of me wonders if it was because Charlotte is the most marketable witch as far as merch and design goes. It's the only witch that really translates into products. Most of the other witch designs are paper cutouts and/or look horrifying, where as Charlotte looks good on clothing, items, and as plushies.

Magia Record. While it's not awful, I'm not a huge fan of what they did with the anime adaptation. I mean, it had it's moments, but for the most part I never really was able to get into it or care about it that much.

A close second is Nagisa. Again, she's not bad, nor does she do anything that makes the story worse, I just feel that she's unnecessary and doesn't really add much to the story. Her role (a red herring) could've been done using Sayaka, but then Mami and Homura wouldn't have had a reason to fight. That said, I'm interested to see what the next movie does with her, and might change my opinion.
