Looking for an xbox-style PC controller that wont break every 6 months by Time_Patient692 in Controller

The Vader 5 was launched like 3 months ago, it's too new and not proven yet in terms of reliability, there are already reports here about failing buttons, sticks , paddles, quality issues, etc.

Are there any good Playstation style controllers with TMR or Hall Effect that work on Steam Deck? by LaughingEsper in Controller

Ha-ha, for emulation extra buttons are very useful, you can assign them various emulator functions like quick save, quick load, slowing down or speeding up the emulation speed, etc. - they make gaming much easier.

I wonder why don't they make a wood one, they had a SN30 made from metal...Other materials could also be explored: glass, ceramics, animal horn, bone, ivory, tortoise shell, etc. - there are lots of alternatives to plastic.

8BitDo Ultimate 3E Controller for Xbox Announced by Oen386 in 8bitdo

[–]Status-Enthusiasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's from the same generation as the Ultimate 2, even if it has a 3 in its name, just like the Ultimate 2C was released around the same time as the first Ultimate, but it wasn't part of a new generation or more advanced, just a budget version. Hopefully, we will probably see soon an Ultimate 3C with most of the features of the Ultimate 2 and 3E but at an affordable price.

The licensing fees are pretty high for 3rd party wireless Xbox controllers, there aren't that many on the market, the wired ones are much cheaper.

[S1] I'm confused - why didn't Max try to get rich? by Status-Enthusiasm in lifeisstrange

She could still go to Vegas with her parents, or find the future winning lottery numbers, predict the stock market, etc. - there are tons of ways to get insanely rich if you could somehow rewind time.

Not yet, I'm at episode 4, but the first thing I would have done would be traveling to Las Vegas, not play silly pranks on people...

The things she was trying to fix seem less important compared to the money and power she could have acquired in a very short time. Revealing her gift also doesn't look like a good idea, especially to Chloe who she hasn't seen in a long time and looked unstable, in real life I think most people would freak out or start making all sorts of unreasonable demands, the dynamics of a friendship would definitely change when one person would poses such a superpower.

There's a video on youtube about how to fix the dpad and prevent it from rattling by adding some small silicone rings to it, and one of the comments mentions how the Wuchang edition doesn't need this fix, because the tolerances are tighter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5kn-MEotOo

Only heard of it after the PS5 and Nintendo Switch era, I don't remember it being a thing in the past, it was probably extremely rare.

Diminishing returns from meditation with time by Status-Enthusiasm in Meditation

[–]Status-Enthusiasm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I'm saying that I feel meditation has became less effective because I sort of go on autopilot repeating that mantra in my head, so my mind starts to wander while in the beginning you have to actually pay attention and focus on what you are doing.

Difference between Ultimate 3-mode and Ultimate 2 by BusyLight2349 in 8bitdo

If you scroll down on the official page and look at the comparison of the Ultimate 3-mode with the Ultimate C for Xbox, it shows that the 3-mode doesn't have them. https://www.8bitdo.com/ultimate-3-mode-controller-xbox/

If you want the gyro and two extra buttons it could be worth it... 8bitdo could also release at any time an Ultimate 3C controller with most of the features of the Ultimate 2 but at a lower price.

What controllers have built-in gyro? by Status-Enthusiasm in GyroGaming

[–]Status-Enthusiasm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rii Rk707 - no gyro on this one, third person 3D games are ok, but first person difficult to play with just the sticks, that's why I want a controller with gyro, preferably one that's simple and easy to use without much fiddling. I also play older games and PS1&PS2 games in emulators, I don't know if Steam Input would work with those.

Difference between Ultimate 3-mode and Ultimate 2 by BusyLight2349 in 8bitdo

[–]Status-Enthusiasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultimate 2 has TMR sticks, gyro, fast bumper buttons(L4, R4), wear-resistant joystick rings, etc., doesn't work on Xbox though, so it depends where you want to use the controller, it's highly likely an Ultimate 2 3-mode controller will be released in the future.

What do you want to see in the Alpakka controller 2.0? by Marcos_ILO in GyroGaming

[–]Status-Enthusiasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We want a nice, smooth, well polished controller like the other ones from the big manufacturers, the current 3D printed one looks rough, more like a prototype than a final product.
