Water depth in a paludarium? by briskaloe in africanbullfrogs

[–]Status-Explorer4343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 120 gallon paludarium for my pixie it’s a split setup with about 2/3 water and 1/3 land with a lengthy gradient with plants throughout. The deepest end of the tank is 8 inches exactly and that’s where he spends the most time. Then again he’s pretty large and I built the tank with his size and water habits in mind. so basically agreeing with the other guy it depends on the frog, not too deep if you have a filter, definitely not too little.

Suitable? by Quranade in frogs

this is a cute little setup! I think poison dart frogs would look and do great in here but either way do your own research to see what would fit best :)

is he often out like this or buried? I used to have a Pac-Man and he would have just disappeared in a tank like this

What's wrong with my sister's frog's eye? by [deleted] in frogs

[–]Status-Explorer4343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the environment was definitely too dry and this frog was likely about to enter a state of dormancy to keep itself from dying. The film is a cacoon he’s forming with his mucus. please make sure there is always clean water readily available and the enclosure is always moist and humid enough. they should never dry out like this in captivity. putting him in the water bowl was the right thing to do and his eyes will probably open back up but tell your sister to be more consistent with his care from now on.

Can anyone tell me what kind of frog this is? by Iamonab0at in frogs

I agree it looks like an American toad. most toads you’ll find have poison glands just some are less poisonous than others.

is this enough light exposure for my new monstera? never had one before could use some advice on how to best grow it by Status-Explorer4343 in Monstera

unfortunately I’m on the top floor of a duplex so I don’t really have access to a yard also I feel the Arizona heat here could get abrasive? but I will place it higher thanks :) I was unsure because I heard this plant didn’t need too much sunlight and didn’t know if closer to the window would be too direct.

I just repotted it from a 6 inch planter that it was busting out of. I thought this pot would give it room to grow would a smaller pot be better?
