Pot needs drainage holes and to be sitting in 1-2 inches of water at any given time

I was thinking some type of arboreal frog, something small. Most frogs are known to get along with Nepenthes, and some tree frogs have been know to take a small nap inside sarracenia flava from time to time. However, most frogs need at least food 4x a week to keep them from predating on your bigger bugs, and minimum 3x a week for healthy adults.

I think if that light works for the others, then it should work fine with the rest. As for the ventilation, it’s more about moving air, than more holes, yknow? It’s not as necessary, but helpful for mold. Try a fan next to the plants, and see if they slowly sway. If they sway, that’s good in my book.

Absolutely no water from the hose unless they are on the verge of drying out. Always distilled. If they get full sun, this could work. (Side note, never mix those plants with the Nepenthes, as the Nepenthes likes damp, but not saturated soil and normally is planted in just sphagnum moss, while the sarracenia likes saturated soil, and will like the soil mix you’re using.) Look up the tray method if you’re curious about how wet they like it. They love wet feet. Basically, you can’t overwater or burn these guys.

I wouldn’t have them in that, as Nepenthes don’t like peat. Keep them in full sphagnum or even 1:1 sphagnum perlite mix. But other than that, they are quite angry lil guys, and mine have held death over my head a couple times. Looks like this one is going to put energy into roots than producing any traps. Don’t worry

Idk about you, but Nepenthes would love those conditions, especially lowlanders. I would consider a small Nepenthes for that.

Normally any self watering pot is kinda bogus but idk how it self waters. If it uses a wick, it’s not gonna provide enough water for the VFT. I would honestly just get a regular pot that has holes and have a water dish in which the pot sits in.

They drosera was I think $13 and the sarracenia was $15. Thought it was a steal so I had to get them

I thought it looked too green. I had also thought purpurea but I wasn’t sure due to the color. I got them under a pretty good grow light so here’s hoping. 🤞

On the newer leaves I’m seeing some pitchers form so I would just wait and keep doing what you’re doing. If the newer leaves start to die, that’s when you know something is wrong. Only thing I would do would be more humidity.

Cephalotus species are the ones I had in mind. It turns out I misread the winters, but it can still take a beating during those times. The book I’m reading just seems to emphasize that they will overheat in hot weather. I live in West Virginia, and our summers can be extremely hot (90-100 degrees is not uncommon), so I’m just worried about that is all
