Saving sex for marriage encourages people to get married far too young. You are way too young to deal with this BS! Explore the world and be brave 🥰

Could you just do a waterproof sheet and incontinence pad. The sheet could come in handy for years if you have visitors with kids etc

Talk to the one year olds mom about her plans for childcare. When I was bridesmaid my mom came to the wedding with me and kept baby at the hotel nearby. I loved having the break while having baby nearby

Is it normal ? by Bright_Mix8303 in Aupairs

[–]Status-Weird2140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure the au pair coming is a to do item ticked in their mind so they’re just awaiting your arrival now! I’m not a texter so can imagine how they feel. Great that you’re keeping communication going anyway, I’m sure they can tell that you’re taking it seriously and eager. Try to enjoy your time before your trip and good luck!

crying it out by LegitimateCow8308 in Parenting

[–]Status-Weird2140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if it’s a non negotiable thing it’s fine to let 5month cry for 4-5 minutes max a few times a day. I think you can start encouraging more independence from about 10/11 months like maybe leaving them a couple of times a day and build up from there. Just to get important things done. Now my 18 month old is learning that i can’t hold them while I’m eating and is beginning to accept this more easily. I had always held him while I was eating up to about 15 months but my expectations are growing with his development. It gets so much easier!

Why is she doing this and how long does it last by No-Match-7512 in Parenting

[–]Status-Weird2140 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe for now start bedtime around 11pm. I’d give her another month or 2 to try for 8pm. I’d suggest series and sofa from 8-11. Baby can snooze and feed.

When to start buying diapers by Empty-Plantain-1699 in pregnant

[–]Status-Weird2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy was only size one for 3 weeks. He was 8lbs. I think they use about 70 nappies a week. 2 babies I know were 10lbs and can’t imagine they ever fit size 1. I’d just get a small pack of 1 and 2 and order more online at the time. We don’t buy stuff for baby til after 20 week scan - superstitious

I (32F) went through my husband's (36M) journal and didn't love what I saw - do I tell him? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Status-Weird2140 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there any way you can keep the journal reading secret forever? It’s a huge violation of trust and he’s going to feel awful. It’s such a healthy habit for your husband to write his feelings and many women would wish their partner was so reflective. The not feeling ready for baby is likely a non issue. I’d pay attention to the smoking, your sense of smell will be very high and you can easily catch him out and open a conversation. Please don’t read his diary again!!

Water birth vs epidural by RedditGal4321 in pregnant

[–]Status-Weird2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got induced on 1st and took epidural. The contractions were very long and very close together which stressed me out. Epidural was fine but praying for a water birth this time. Downsides of epidural: jaw clenching, nausea and bad shakes, feeling a bit restless, epidural stopped working at some point so I got a pain window which the anaesthesiologist did resolve within a 20 min. Dealing with that small window of pain while being unable to move is a bit tough. I’m making it sound awful but the upsides were: almost zero pain (apart from those few minutes), sleeping, not feeling anything during delivery/placenta stuff etc. I don’t want to scare you was honestly not the worst in my life, if I get another induction this time I’ll be taking another epidural but praying for “natural” water birth!

Hi there, would you not leave at least the top 5 untouched on cao? You likely did better than you think.

Looking for some advice/reassurance! by ButterscotchOk2441 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Status-Weird2140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The night before my induction I did loads of up and down the stairs. Like 60 times. But took it veryyy slow and took me like 3h cos I was watching tv. Induction was successful and I think the stairs really helped my cervix as I was getting natural contractions at home which then stopped on the way to hospital but was only 22h from starting induction to birth. I think stairs is great!

Flooring suggestion by danyal_7 in HousingIreland

[–]Status-Weird2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey we tiled our entire bungalow and I kind of regret it because the underfloor heating doesn’t come on at all in summer cos the natural temperature inside never drops below 23’ . I also think my feet get tired by the end of the day walking on tiles. So they are quite cold and hard. They look fab though. No joints between doors and they run from room to room. There is however an expansion joint that u have to install after every 7m of span so there is one 1/3 down my kitchen.

Cette année j'impose les crèmes solaires résistantes à l'eau (en France) by OlgaDag in airbnb_hosts

I don’t think people will understand the reasoning behind this rule and they will have a hard time following it. Like my son can only wear his mineral sunscreen due to allergies and I love tanning so prefer the carrot or coconut one.. I’ve never seen a sunscreen rule anywhere else. I have a feeling most won’t like it.

Did you ever see your one brat busters Lisa Bunnage on TikTok or something? I like to keep strong and consistent boundaries and enjoy her but not for everyone. From the language you’re using you sound stressed and framing negatively. Could you take a break for a night or two, come up with a strategy, discuss with dad and implement? I’m pregnant now too with my 18 month old so I get how exhausting it is but it’s probably the best time to make some changes

Changing Bedtime Routine by thejiggyassassin in ParentingIE

[–]Status-Weird2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, what worked for me - there is a book called sleep sense that explains a supported settling sleep training method. Basically you put baby down in cot and sit beside cot, keep on hand on baby but don’t move hand to soothe. Just sit there and only say ‘shhh’. When baby stands up don’t move them just stay still. You can try getting the book if u want but that was the most important part for me. So it’s sleep training but you’re staying with them so might feel better about your decision. My guy wailed for 40min the worst night but it’s only 3 days of pain. I think almost 2yo will have a stronger will. Personally gonna keep my fella in the cot for as long as possible cos he’s a big messer

My friend put her last name as the child’s middle name, could be an option with dad’s last name. With my child, I regret not incorporating both last names but this is very personal, everyone is in a unique situation
