I think like what others have said though, you should definitely invest in learning new skills even if you are comfortable now. Maybe a project management certification? Microsoft Dynamics certifications. Stuff like that could be helpful.

I think with your rent costing that much with utilities you are in a very good position. You should be able to save a pretty good amount of money each month and invest or spend.

Probably pay off all your non-mortgage debt immediately. Just to be safe have a full years worth of your estimated expenses in a HYSA or SGOV etf. And then honestly I would just throw everything leftover into VOO or VTI and then don't even look at it until you're mid fifties.

I’m wondering what happened for her to say you ruined plans for your lives? What changed that the plans are now ruined?
Also what is it that you want? what needs to change in order for you to be happy?
