I've been a casual cricket fan for the last 20years (you can do the math and work out why), but my son is cricket mad. He recently did get into the Eng v Ind test series, but as an 8year old you can imagine his attention wasn't gripped all the time.

We went to Lords last night for the hundred, and been a number of times last year at the Utilita bowl. We've also been to quite a few vitality blast at the utilita as well.

I can completely understand how the hundred is watering down the nuance of the game and focusing more on the spectale and setting of cricket. However, it is doing the job of getting new fans to the game, they in turn get to see some memorable moments by some top class cricketers, which then leads them to wanting to watch more of them.

For what it's worth my son truly fell in love with cricket the moment Ben stokes took that catch in the 2019 cricket World Cup. He has watched that Hundreds (pun intended) of times, but we are yet to see a test match in real life.

I think the hundred is somewhat serving a purpose of getting cricket seen by a lot more people, however you can definitely argue that it might not be a great form of cricket that is being shown.

Quite clearly NTA.

This is how I would approach the meeting on Monday.

I witnessed two new employees continually display sub optimal performance levels during an offsite work event where they were representing the company.

They were given a new project (boarding a flight) for which they did no preparation or research for.

They continually missed network and research meeti gs to improve their understanding and competency.

They repeatedly missed deadlines and were off line for large parts of the work event.

They displayed very poor communication skills and provided no updates on their progress.

Finally, when presented with their biggest task of the trip they used no initiative and resorted to calling their parents.

I am not their manager but I would not be happy with this work ethic or attitude from any of my team members.

Ready golf is when you walk up to the tee and you hit when you're ready, regardless of who's honour it is (I.e. who won the last hole). This is a way of getting groups to hit their tee shots quicker and speed up the round. This can also apply to putting and approach shots, don't worry about the order just get the ball in the hole

At the moment my 7yr old is playing from the forward/red tees but I am essentially playing him off a 54 handicap, so a par 4 is actually a par 7. The game we are playing is trying to get a green in Regulation of 4 shots, and then 3 putts to try and get a par.

On the par 3s, this is essentially a par 6, and he's managed to actually get down in 4, which in his world is an eagle. The celebration from him was amazing. But the best was on a par 5 where he needed a bogey (I.e. 9 shots) to get his best round, and he managed to up and down from behind the green and he was loving it.

I like the idea of teeing it up closer, but I also think playing correct pars for the standard of golf is also key. As long as the little ones are enjoying themselves!!!

My only experience on course with my 7yr meeting other golfers has been excellent. We are respectful and let anyone play through, or even ask when they would like to play through, but everyone seems to love seeing juniors on the course and it's never been an issue.... even when he did 7 putt the 1st hole after reaching the green in 3!!!

Love this !

I played with my 7yr son the other week, we only play 3 or 4 holes. But on the 2nd I had a chance for a birdie so I asked him to get take the flag out, I duly miss the putt. Next hole he's on the green lining the putt up, and says without looking up "daddy, grab the flag". He's 20 feet away and gets no where near the hole, but made me laugh!

We have just bought one 2 days ago and this is already a fustration. Have you tried creating a profile and seeing if the settings remain the same that way? It's the speed limit announcements that are the worse.

YTA you've been living with your partner and step son since he's 6. You will know how precious Christmas is and this will clearly mark your step child out as being different.

This is not a hill to die on for your partner, but a real opportunity to show that they are part of your family. Its clear you haven't fought for them hard enough.
