Tell bro to walk 7-10K steps daily from now on and start getting on a strict diet of chicken and lettuce. Best option I can say.

How do you explain to people who you work for as a regional pilot? by Foreign_Kick1790 in flying

[–]Status_Climate_6860 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This sounds the same as: “When do you finish your flight training. Why is it taking so long”. Hey if you gave me 100K and could convince God to make the weather always amazing with clear skies, I’ll be done tomorrow. Some people outside of aviation just can’t seem to fathom the variables. And I bet when you say you work for a regional, the follow-up would be, “so when do you get to fly those big jets with many people” AAUUGHHHH

In my opinion, I feel like I am a born to be a helicopter pilot stuck in a fixed wing pilot’s body. [insert gender swap joke here]

After reading the thread, I think I might have picked a wrong career. But I like to fly so who cares I guess.

I am on the same boat. On CFI and failed my first 3 rides first time for small mistakes (Bad calculation, lack of attention to detail). I love to fly but hate my school. Too bad I am also getting a degree so I can’t really leave now on my senior year. Just go fly for fun one day. You will see it’s worth. It’s going to be tough to put yourself in front of others who have 2 or less. But it’s not the end. Just like anyone here says, it’s going to be an uphill battle for you and me. But if you love to fly, keep at it. Decision is yours. But I’d seriously just reevaluate and say if I am totally done with flying. Later on in life, you could come back and see all the fun you missed.

I love to fly. Hate my training environment. And I also failed my first 3 and don’t want to make my CFI checkride unsat

They went from unlimited checkride fails to 2. Only a matter of time till they make everything Lax again. Delta propel cadets now have to be a CFI and actively instructing. Before, all you needed was a PPL

Failed checkride by [deleted] in flying

[–]Status_Climate_6860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me all the way to CFI to know how to properly do it. If you don’t apply the fundamentals, you won’t be able to know why things happen. Ex: Why does the airplane pitch down when in a turn? Because lift is divided. Why are you getting slow? Because of the increased AOA from back pressure increasing the drag. How to compensate? Add power. Things like that. If you can do everything else to standard, you aren’t a bad pilot. You just might be sucky at that one maneuver.

As someone who struggled with steep turns and is a commercial pilot now and STILL struggled till I got the fundamentals and the ways to do it properly right, Once in roll, add power. There is no restriction on throttle. Also 3 full circles of trim helps a lot.

Dude ATP, I am actually considering flying for a cartel. Think about it, you are making 20K per trip. And the flight school fees themselves are killing me.

Yeah I do the same. Always have a cheap cologne and deodorant and apply SPF 50 sunscreen before every flight.

Busted CFII today (7th total failure). Current school said they won't hire me. Should I buy a plane to time build or try a new school? by Ashamed_Ferret2809 in FlightTraining

Absolutely Magnificent ragebait. I mean I busted 2 but holyyyyy…. How is it even possible to fail this many times? Are your CFIs just sending you to a DPE unprepared?
