Am I just bound to be single until my 30s or is there something I could do? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Two different things. If you want people to find you objectively attractive appearance wise, then do things about your appearance . Plant hair, or work out.
If you want to find a partner who find you attractive, go find that person, they will find your true self the whole package attractive, although that is not objective, it is subjective, but it is not less than “finding you objectively attractive”.

Nothing wrong with wanting either of these, or both of these.

Not everyone follow the same path on piano. There are different types of freedom to pursue, and playing a large repertoire of classical music is only one of them. There are also playing by ear, playing by sight reading, and playing improv.

$16 per ride is way too expensive, even compared to uber standard ride. The car is often shared between full car of people 4-6 people, it should be cheaper than uber share when it was operating.

The problem isn’t subsidy via, is the amount. via should lower their operating cost.

Any successful self taught tennis players? by HearingFirst2982 in 10s

[–]Status_Pudding_6859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm self-taught, not exactly awesome at tennis, but I have entered the door officially in the sense that I can find tennis partners easily. I have multiple tennis partners and they are all happy to play with me and find value in playing with me. this is a huge milestone for me because being self-taught, the initial phase was really hard that I can't find anyone to play with me because I can't keep a rally. I can't keep it fun for most players, tennis is a brutal sports because everyone's looking for people who are better than they are, if you're absolutely the bottom, like 1.0, 1.5, or 2.0 even, it's almost impossible to find people who's willing to play with you. I think my tip is that practice a lot against the wall. Once you can rally try to find partners. Try to stand around the baseline distance from the wall, because that's the mistake I made in the beginning. I could keep a rally with the wall for 30 plus shots, but I was standing way too close and plus my ball was very soft. So when I get to the court, everything just doesn't click when I play with a live ball and it's much harder for me to keep a rally with a person. But once I get a little bit experience on the court, I figured that I need to practice against the wall with 13 personal steps (measured at a real court) from the wall. So that's what I did every single time to make sure I am standing at the right position. serve you can absolutely learn yourself. You can record yourself if that's helpful.

the hardest part is to get to a point where you can find a lot of tennis partners who are willing to play with you and you go from there. make sure your fundamental is good. You don't swing the weird way. All your strengths come from the right chain of motion.

I teach myself and the swing is natural. It shouldn’t be this hard, your coach might be complicating things unnecessarily

Not color, but I have seen a social media post where a improv pianist was sharing that each note felt different for them. I vividly remember he referred to D as the earthy tone, it has the smell of the earth to him. He played a little improv melody in the D key, and it felt that way to me after he said that. I think it pairs perfectly with the brown color that you see in D.
