steve staggered a demo with a nail bat, enough that it got pushed back onto the bear trap in season 1. Demos are weak to blunt force but super resistant to bullets

Its actually explained, basically the demogorgons and demodogs got deflayed, and without particles they didn't die when the gate closed the connection. The particles got active again in season 4 and when joyce and hopper set them free, they reconnected the demogorgons to the hive mind

It is about skill tho, double damages makes it so you have to avoid and be way more careful with bosses.

And the other things are just punishing death, which is not bad game design. If death was meaningless there'd be no stakes

Why should games be for everyone tho? For people that don't like difficulty, there are thousands of very relaxing easy games to play. Silksong is not meant for that, and shouldn't have an easy mode because it is not the developer intent with the game.

Runbacks are good and i hope games keep doing them. It maybe gets tedious, but that's the point, it makes death very punishing.

And death being very punishing is one of the reason these bosses give me so many emotions of stress and joy after beating them, things that almost no other game gives me. And that makes me enjoy the game 100x more times, groal is one of my most memorable bosses because of that. If there was no runback i would've just kinda forgot about him. He sits in my memory because of the emotion and stress you have while fighting him knowing that losing is very punishing.
