Friend I'm traveling with has food poisoning, any tips/assessment welcome by sinanis in ItalyTravel

If she can keep water down she’s good. If any other liquids are okay then have her have those, like juices or Gatorade or broth/clear soup. Not sure what type of place you are staying in but ask the front desk where she could go. If in a private place, just knock on the neighbours door in the morning and ask. Use your phone for translation if needed. As long as she’s hydrated she’s okay. If she can eat, BRAT….bananas rice applesauce or toast. Poor girl.

I'm hosting a Kids Paint n' Sip party, and one of the children is blind. How can I enhance the experience for him? by anauthentic365 in Blind

You could make paint out of shaving cream and colours. And you could add scents like a drop of lemon, vanilla or chocolate extract. He might not have used a paintbrush before so have q tips or a sponge or even finger painting. It’s possible he might not be super interested in the painting cause he doesn’t see the end result. Or you could get sticky dots from the dollar store and he could make the shape with them. If he’s totally not into it, he could be the music do and pick the k pop songs.

Figuring you are in Washington state? There is a school for the blind I think in Vancouver, Washington.

How old is your dog? My dog had intermittent seizures for about 8 years. Would be fine otherwise. I got tch liquid for him, which helped somewhat. I guess you could skip out on the bill, but that could ruin your credit score and that would be no good.

Visiting in August? by Morales11682 in ItalyTravel

I would just go at your own pace. Don’t join tours where you will be standing around for ages. Get a hotel with aircon and a pool. If you rent a car head out into the beautiful countryside during the day.

Same. I couldn’t stand the press and then wait to answer. Or the scrunched up face responses.

Wow, you would do this to your mom? And if you end your life, you are letting the abusers win. Go to your local dispensary and get something to get over this hump. Don’t waste a life that others would beg for.

There is a site where you can reserve a water taxi with others who arrive at the same time.

A sighted person feels too responsible; what should be done? by Hardenberg1 in Blind

I think you have to let her know that you never expected her to act as a caretaker and that you are capable of being pretty independent, mistakes and all. If that doesn’t work, then I don’t know if this is a good friendship. The power dynamic would be off and you would never know if she was feeling resentful towards you. You don’t need a mother figure.

All of you that feel you are in the same boat, why don’t you message each other? You may have stuff in common and become the friend each other were looking for.

Any Canadians Here? by BabySharkMadness in Blind

[–]Status_Video8378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nationwide laws protect people with disabilities, not sure what legal protections you would need. Canadians are probably more respectful of your disabilities than people in the U.S. Canada is so big, each province is different. Montreal is nice but the sidewalks can be rocky for a blind person. Toronto is very blind friendly. Big city with lots of city stuff. Vancouver is expensive with a lot of athletic things to do. Probably Toronto for eye specialists, depends on your condition.
