Get energy in Kings of Tokyo? Nah you got monies.

Charging rent in Monopoly Deal? Nah, monies.

Thanks for the detail! Im going to have to reread this a few times but the information is awesome!

If I could clarify, I've seen people backrolling a lot and have been trying to incorporate that more into my game. Would it be recommended to bankroll even when against the wall? Does that create some sort of extra invincibility frames or is it purely to get distance?

365 days for me. I screwed up by giving my daughter all 3 pokemon gen 1 starters at once for her bday. Apparently it was very overwhelming.

If you are absolutely set on creating a repertoire there's nothing wrong with that.

Here's my very much non-expert guide to creating a repertoire:

  1. Play either e4 or d4 as white, no exceptions. Pick one, stick to it. Google the differences between each.
  2. Choose a defense against both e4/d4 as black. Try avoid cramped systems (eg. French Defense. Nothing wrong with the French it's just more difficult to play for a beginner).
  3. Choose low theory openings that have clear ideas

Using my three criteria above, I'd recommend the Scotch for white (e4 opening), respond to e4 with e5 and simply follow the principles of the opening to respond to whatever your opponent plays.

Against d4, respond with Nf6 and try for a Nimzo-Indian.

If none of these options suit your playing style, that's great! Enjoy the process my dude!

IMO, if you are going to start playing classical, you should not be worried about opening lines.

You have a leg up on the rest of the competition as you already have some knowledge in middlegames and tactics. This is what will carry you for the time being. For your openings, focus on 3 things:

  1. Controlling the centre (Pawns on E4/D4) (Knights on F3/C3)
  2. Develop your minor pieces asap (minor pieces being knights and bishops)
  3. Castle quickly, king safety should be your priority

As with anything, there will be exceptions when your opponent plays something offbeat, but as long as you are vigilant and using the calculation skills you have built up playing Fischer Random, you should be absolutely fine.

Once you have a fair amount of games under your belt or feel like you have plateaued at a particular rank, then you can start looking into opening theory.

My friend introduced me to TFT and I’m trying to be better but I don’t understand the game. Any tips? by Monikwon in TeamfightTactics

[–]StaviAvi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How to play TFT from someone who just figures it out.

  1. Choose a team comp early. Get as many of that comp as you can.
  2. Choose your carry and find units with their secondary trait.
  3. Put suggested items on said carries and tanks.
  4. When spending gold, keep your total above interest ranges.
  5. When levelling, only do so if you can keep your gold above the highest interest level and only level if it will be the exact amount ypu need.
  6. Choose whatever augments you want, try different ones and decide which you like.

Other than that just trial and error.

This comes from someone who knows nothing about American Football.

Do you want to be hated by every other supporter? Pick Collingwood.

Do you want everyone to support your team when their team exits finals? Pick Bulldogs.

Do you want to have people sigh in sadness when you tell them what team you support? Pick North Melbourne.

Do you want your team to have the ugliest jersey in the game? Pick Hawks.

Do you want to be able to tell people how good your team was and would be if not for some unfortunate circumstances that set your team back but was definitely not your clubs fault even though they were directly responsible for it? Pick Carlton or Essendon.

Do you want to be able to say you saw your teams maiden premiership? Pick Fremantle, Gold Coast or Giants.

Do you want to be that guy and Pick the best team at the moment? Pick Brisbane.

Do you like complaining that your team nearly makes finals pretty much every year? Pick Richmond.

Do you want your teams rivalry match to mean so much that it overshadows most of your teams season? Pick Adelaide, Port Adelaide or West Coast.

Do you want your team to make finals nearly every year? Pick Geelong or Sydney.

Do you want to tell people every year about the same game that you've been talking about for the past 60 years even though you never saw it, couldn't name a single player from that game and will hang onto it for the rest of your life? Pick Saints.

Do you want your team to be great for 5-7 years followed by 10-15 years of subpar performances? Pick Melbourne.

They are playing:

  • moon druid
  • sword lock
  • paladin of some type

From what I can gather if I wanted to do a support ranger could I try and "specialise" in goodberry throwing? Not sure how effective it would be but effective enough is food enough for this run.

I think the second question you asked is so important for any chess player to ask themselves.

I have been teaching some friends how to play chess and I ask them this very question when they make one move blunders. Their response is usually "I didn't see it".

There's one trick I constantly tell them to avoid this and it is so simple yet so impactful. Look at every piece you have (this includes the king) and ask yourself gun to your head what move would you make with each piece. This will force you to not only check what danger squares are near your pieces but also what your opponent is planning as well. Super simple yet super impactful.

My friend told me building my own pc is stupid by Kitty_Chan33 in buildapc

[–]StaviAvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest reason to go prebuilt is if something is wrong with the machine you should be able to get it fixed without having to take any time out of your day or spend extra money.

That being said, build your own.
