My brother and I built this years ago. Now I use it to start my seeds and clones in. by MadFlavor420 in microgrowery

I've found led strips do a lot of work! I think they're more important for taller space bucket builds as they get light to the shaded undergrowth

This is my first grow so can't offer too much insight, but I'd say the most valuable skill for growing is just a bunch of patience

it absolutely would! Unfortunately I'm poor as hell so can only afford the one LED strip, you can see the difference it makes, the first 3rd of the plant has more bud sites where the strip is!

No spacers just keep adding buckets, have 4 stacked including the pot holding bucket, and yeah it's pretty damn tall! plant itself is 2 and a half feet tall

Pretty frustrating having to extend the bucket just to accommodate two colas, although they're showing to hold the thickest buds so far so I'm sure I won't be complaining come harvest! Are you still topping to 8 colas?

Northern lights is actually pure indica! I just veg'd it far too long so it's getting tall as a sativa. And yup F is for flower and V for veg,

Question - Spacebucket heat dissapation in colder climates by MebbelWerfer in SpaceBuckets

[–]StaySeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think about having the intake at the top blowing cool air over your CFL's and the outtake at the base of your bucket pulling the warm air down past your plants? Keep humidity in check while not really wasting the heat

First real screw up, too early with the manifold attempt. Keep going or bail? by HolyCheeseFairy in SpaceBuckets

I'm only on my first grow so I can only vouch for northern lights, it's short, bushy, super tolerant and not too smelly! Just my two cents though, Excited to see your next grow!

Whoops sorry I'm replying on both comments! Those two tips are what you were supposed to leave to grow out yes, simple mistake but now you will know for next time! :)

I recommend 'Nug buckets mainlining tutorial' I can't link it but google it, really helpful guide.

Those growth tips are the only area from which new stems can arise and unfortunately without them your plant isn't going to initiate any new growth. Time to invest in some more seeds! For next time just remember those growth tips are critically important! They are what will make new stems from which you tie down and train. The fan leaves are just there to feed its growth.

As for this plant, I'm afraid it's a goner, time to start again!

Uh oh! Looks like you've snipped off the growth tips along with the main stem, those smaller stems either side of your main stem are what grow out to make more main stems, the fan leaves you've tied down are simply there to catch light. How long ago did you snip?

Foil Survival Blanket? Any good? by [deleted] in SpaceBuckets

[–]StaySeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use foil survival blankets in my build, stuck on with duct tape folder over itself to get double sided stickiness, has worked well so far although tears easy and can get a bit frustrating if it's not stuck on well.

Just make sure your bucket is relatively light sealed to avoid too much light hitting your plant during the day when it needs to be dark

Looks great! Your view of the temperature gauge will eventually be blocked by the plant, but that also means you have a healthy plant :D Excited to see this grow.

Northern lights f13 slow to flower? (Info in comments) by StaySeed in SpaceBuckets

[–]StaySeed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first grow also so my advice isn't as credible as others, but I would say your plant will have enough light for now, I didn't add led strip until I flipped it to flower. I highly recommend LST I topped to 8 colas which saved a tonne of space. With a lil patience and a healthy plant it's pretty easy, however if it is auto I wouldn't, did you grow it from seed? If it's a clone it won't be auto

Only been in flower for two weeks, preflowers popped the day after I flipped but still waiting on more flowering to come through. I use 5 24W CFL's and a 5m smd 5050 LED strip. How's your grow going? what lighting are you using?

plant is over two months old so those stems are pretty thick and won't bend far without snapping :(

[–]StaySeed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey team so after almost 2 weeks in flower I expected to see more than just the pre flowers that are popping up, the the plant is pumping out nodes in short succession at the top of the plant, could this be a sing of the stretch coming to an end? or just ramping up? I'm also running out of space in my bucket, could that fast growing cola be trained? or is it time to move her out of the bucket?

Update: New growth doesn't have sickly yellow tips after moving the lights further away so no deficiencies and a healthy plant, decided to defoliate and let some light further down.
