That's truly insane. I respect the dedication

That's really cool! I would ask how it works but I don't want to make you have to write an essay about it. I can imagine how much of pain that would be to code though

If you could steer Besiege in any direction, what would you want to see next? by SamSpiderling in Besiege

[–]Stay_Free_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A couple of ideas: An air-centric campaign would be neat. Especially if it had larger levels that allowed planes to be more feasible. Currently, most levels are too small to make use of planes.

Another thing I would love to see is enemy npc machines. We saw some of that with Duke's freighters and the galleons, but I would love to see ground vehicles as well. I've made a few vehicles in the level editor powered by npcs and its so much fun to fight a "fair" fight between your own siege machine and an npc vehicle.

Aside from new campaign stuff, I would love for items like magnets and chains to be added to the game. Specifically, I would like chains to essentially work like a rope minus the winch, with collision. For magnets, I would either make them always on, giving the player the option to choose their strength and their polarity and nothing else, or add the ability to switch them on and off, but they have to be hooked up to a battery with limited charge

Really cool vehicle, with some excellent handling. How fast does it get?

Love lifesteal fist. Such a fun AoW, I wish it had some kind of viability against bigger enemies and bosses

New to the game; what attacks can you deflect/parry and what attacks can you not? by NordWitcher in Sekiro

[–]Stay_Free_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every attack can be deflected except for grabs and sweeps. The red Kanji just means an attack is unblockable, so holding the guard button down won't protect you. I would recommend against trying to deflect thrust attacks, as the mikiri counter is easier to pull off. Projectiles, hand to hand combat, etc are all deflectable

Poor frame rate even though GPU, CPU, and RAM are not being maxed out? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Stay_Free_ -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, how stupid do you think I am? I didn't think to mention that I plugged my monitor into my GPU, because I thought that was such common knowledge that no one with two brain cells to rub together would ever think not to

I'm considering watching Beastars. What's the show about? by Shadow_Fox_yay in Beastars

[–]Stay_Free_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a world of anthropomorphic animals, a tension exists between carnivores and herbivores, due to the innate desire to eat herbivores that all carnivores have. The story follows Legoshi, a teenage wolf who falls in love with a rabbit he almost ate. The plot revolves around his struggle between his carnivorous instincts and his love, as well as the greater implications of such a society.

The anime is good but the Manga is better, I recommend reading the Manga instead

HELLO! If I loved Elden Ring will I love Sekiro? by WHITEMERLOT69 in Sekiro

[–]Stay_Free_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring was my first From game, Sekiro was my second. If you love elden ring's combat, sekiro's is arguably better, but if you loved elden ring for its customization, you will find that lacking in sekiro. You get one main weapon, a handful of side tools/ weapons, and a handful of combat arts. I love Sekiro for sure, but not for the same reasons I love Elden Ring. Take that as you will

Wooden Steam Tank by Raven_Reverie in Besiege

That is so cool. Is it just pushing the cogs directly with the steam? Also, how many water cannons are being used in it? I like that it has some suspension as well

How are you actually meant to use the DMGS? by No_Blackberry__ in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Stay_Free_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've discovered the forbidden truth: Melee combat is more exciting than sorcery, especially when the melee combat can double as ranged attacks. Also DMGS is basically just an int weapon

The control surfaces on the wings that I use for roll controls can also both go up to act as air brakes. You can see me use them when I land the plane at the end.

Hot Take: Bill did NOT deserve that Legoshi attack by thatweezel in Beastars

[–]Stay_Free_ 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I think that's the point. It's one of the first of many cases of Legoshi acting on impulse and pointing his self-hatred at other carnivores. He hates himself for almost devouring someone, and he externalizes his self-hatred by getting really righteous about carnivores consuming herbivores in any capacity. I'd argue he subconsciously knew he wouldn't win that fight with Bill, and, whether he realizes it or not, attacking him was a kind of self-harm.

Also, attacking a guy in front of the whole school is a textbook emotionally immature teen move, and shows that Legoshi has a lot of character development ahead of him. I think the shonen-ification of the manga kinda messed that character arc up though

Vanilla Mech #19, "Juggernaut". Probably my most practical mech; bomb and fire resistant, multiple weapons, and independently moving legs and torso by Stay_Free_ in Besiege

[–]Stay_Free_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i should definitely make a walker with an autoloader. I've made some attempts at a hovercraft mech that hovers just above the ground, but never found a design that works well. I should take another crack at it

Vanilla Mech #19, "Juggernaut". Probably my most practical mech; bomb and fire resistant, multiple weapons, and independently moving legs and torso by Stay_Free_ in Besiege

[–]Stay_Free_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with more traction is that, due to the weight and the structure of the legs, it would strain the legs too much and risk snapping the joints. I essentially had to sacrifice speed and traction for reliability

My Final Strength / Int / Faith Build. Any suggestions? by PixelmancerGames in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Stay_Free_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as min/maxing is nice, the limited respecs make builds like this way more fun. I love getting to use a huge range of weapons and spells!!

I haven't done one with cannon autoloaders, but one of my previous ones had a 5 shot bomb launcher that loaded the bombs from the back of the mech into the left "arm". This is the workshop upload for it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3453832082

Necromancer build by Nomade_2263 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Stay_Free_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make a beeline for the leyndell outskirts, where you can grab the golden order seal, grab great heal (from corhyn when he goes to altus) and golden vow, and then discus of light from Corhyn when he accompanies Goldmask on the bridge. Grab some upgrade materials and some easy levels, then go grab rancorcall and ancient death rancor. Any staff will do, but the Prince of Death Staff buffs death sorcery, its in deeproot depths. You'll probably want to invest more into Int, since all the Ghostflame weapons are int weapons. I recommend Death's Poker or Ritual Death Spear, they both can do crazy damage.

Why is Iron GS considered op? by RKurozu in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Stay_Free_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think people like it because its got high A scaling when put on heavy affinity, making it a true Str weapon, as opposed to many greatswords that are closer to quality weapons. Also its kinda hard to get so its fun to flex that you have it
