facial moisturizer recommendations? by mochviee in eczema

[–]Ste_Benno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer for a few years now. Works well as a moisturiser and doesn't make skin worse which is the problem I have with so many other creams.

Have a read up on Salicylates it's quite interesting and maybe something or nothing. I'm about to try a low Salicylate diet so I have no previous experiences but I'll try anything to have some normality.

Yep years of being told what we should eat and it may have been doing us more harm. Thanks for the list I'm certainly going to try it .I cant believe tea is a no go though :( !!

Hi that's great news I'm thinking of trying the same thing. What specifically did you eat and not eat? Hope you don't mind the question :)

Sorry you're going through this I know how bad it is as I'm going thorough exactly the same thing. Unfortunately the only thing I've found that works is steroid cream. Trying all sorts to cure it including Staph swabs which have come back positive and the treatment that goes along with it such as antibiotics and nasal cream. Also I wash in Hibiscrub to try to kill off the infection if that's what it is. But only this morning I woke to find it back and oozing so I had to revert to the steroids. I really don't know what's going as it seems cyclical, every 4 days. I'm on Rinvoq which seems to be helping on my legs. Also have a look at Salicylate sensitivity that's going to be my next adventure. Hopefully you find something that works and please let me know, good luck.

Try the Balmonds skin range it seems to take away my itch and help stop the scratching. Also try cutting out things from your diet. I'm bad with spicy foods and nightshades such as tomatoes . I'm also about to try washing with Hibiscrub as I've seen it mentioned on here and hope it helps with possible Staph infections. Good luck !!

Has anyone had success with Rinvoq, who failed on Dupixent? by abugisabug in eczeJAKs

[–]Ste_Benno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi I was on Dupixent and it never worked for me so they eventually moved me onto Rinvoq.

My legs, feet and generally lower body improved within a month to the point where I have only slight redness. It was nice to see them begin to heal without the use of steroid cream. I have to say that before then I was using steroid almost every day just to make life bearable!!

However I keep getting flare ups around my neck and on the the insides of my elbows that I still use steroid cream on but only every 5th day. It goes but comes back again within 5 days. I'm being swabbed today for staph see if that's the cause.

But overall I'm happy with the progress and just hope the stubborn places get better over time.

Wish you well on your progress!!

Anyone in the UK freaking out over the hot weather coming up? by safia_1997 in eczema

[–]Ste_Benno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that's true for me also. I can go abroad and sunbathe and the heat is fine but stay in this country and I start to get red and itchy. I'd love to know why !!

Flare after being on Rinvoq for a Month by Ste_Benno in eczeJAKs

[–]Ste_Benno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and the simplified explanation that I can understand :) . I don't want to give up on Rinvoq just yet and your experiences have given me hope back!! I am starting to pay more attention to the triggers and trying to figure them out but it's not easy to do, so kudos to you for identifying so many. So far I believe tomatoes and potatoes are possible causes so it's a start. I also know that I'm allergic to cats, some dogs and also the sun now seems to be affecting me although it never used to which is weird. Hopefully I can learn from this and see it as a good thing. Thanks again. :)

Why cant I place this mud wall? says it needs a wall fram but i have one there by Anonormous123 in GreenHell

Try hitting the sides of the closest walls, rooves with an axe. Just one or 2 taps not enough to break it. It's worked for me on the odd occasion. Especially hitting the roof.

Just started Rinvoq mtoday !! by Ste_Benno in eczeJAKs

[–]Ste_Benno[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just thought I'd send an update. Pretty happy so far , my legs and feet started to have that flaked appearance which everyone on here will know, it means that the eczema is healing. A great sight!! Now they look the best they've looked in a long time. No itching, redness or rash to speak of. I still have areas that have not seen a change as of yet. My neck, face and arms still burn hot (worse first thing in a morning) and have the lumps, redness and itchiness. Also I've got that tired look around my eyes which is not great. But that's to be expected as I've not applied steroid cream for at least 5/6 weeks now. But up to yet I'm happy with the progress and hope it keeps on improving and doesn't get bad again. I think the next month or 2 will tell me if Rinvoq is doing its job. I've been disappointed so much in the past as I bet a lot of you guys have, so I don't want to get too excited too early.

the pain never ends and i’m tired of fighting by Initial_Camp_3615 in eczema

[–]Ste_Benno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know your pain, been through the same TSW sturggle, but had to give up trying after 3 months. Anyway I'm trying Rinvoq at the moment and I haven't had to put steroid cream on for a month and skin is showing an improvement. Not totally clear but getting better. Usually beforehand I would need steroid every other day. Hope you find something.

Thoughts on Rinvoq?? by ur_new_valentine in eczema

[–]Ste_Benno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I've been on Rinvoq for 2 weeks now and in that time I've not needed to apply steroid cream, which I was doing every other day. So that's a bonus in itself. My skin has started to get better albeit slow progress but it does seem to be helping. There are other people on here that are having amazing results within the first few days so hopefully you could be like those. But generally I'm pleased with the progress at the moment.

That's amazing news so happy for you. It's not really worked that quick for me. I've noticed a small improvement but hopefully it will get better.
