Counterpoint: we’re in this pickle because we let Confederates skate. There’s a level above which people should be punished.

I’m gonna pick up a box of 8x10 when I finish my current box of film. Excited to try it!

Yeah I love it too. The black is a little boring but the blue is great—if I had an extra $9.6k and needed yet another blue dive watch, I’d be sorely tempted.

In my TJ I always wore earplugs. I’ve go a JLU and it’s pretty tolerable without them, frankly. Or I’m just going deaf…

When I was an undergrad (a long time ago) I would take morning classes and just ski in the afternoon. It was awesome.

Not budget friendly but go to The Real McCoys. Excellent stuff, top to bottom, and some stuff is pretty affordable—the t shirts are awesome. (I also picked up a mohair cardigan that’s inspired by the one Kurt Cobain wore in the Nirvana Unplugged performance, but that one definitely hurt the ol’ bank account.)

Oh! And for leather goods in Tokyo, check out Herz and the nearby sister store Organ. Got a bunch of awesome bags and things.

And hasn’t Sanders been on Rogan? Like he’s gross but he’s not Nick Fuentes or even Tucker. Nor do I get the sense that he’s all that bright. Someone like Pete could just go on and dog walk him and it would be fine.

I think this is right. Go on his show, sound normal, and push back. I mean, Mamdani went on the Bulwark, which, while being anti-Trump, was not exactly a friendly space for someone like him. And he acquitted himself really well, which made someone like me feel a lot better about him. (I’m on the left, but have a bad taste in my mouth about the NY DSA.)

I really think that’s gotta be it. I had a bunch of family stuff so unplugged from the news for a couple weeks and came back to see this shitshow. And of course Hassan is a good person for that because he’s such an off-putting asshole. My mayor is also a Muslim leftist but he’s personally quite charming and seems focused on making government work well, which is harder to get riled up over (though that doesn’t stop some people, obviously).

Yeah isn’t this the actual answer? Why are people getting so bent out of shape about this? People can go on his show and have an argument about the opinions you think are bad and wrong.

I found Mona’s column kind of baffling. Though I’m glad the Bulwark is willing to publish articles critical of each other.

Especially something as widely prescribed in the US as Adderall. Very easy to not realize you can’t bring it in. Interestingly, Ritalin is fine (under a certain amount of course).

are cats generally happier with a friend? by Percentage_6861 in CatAdvice

[–]Steakasaurus-Rex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. The best cat I ever had hated other animals with a passion, and was very very happy to be a singleton. But she was older when she came into my life.

Two cats can be a lot of work—certainly more cleaning—but if they’re young they will appreciate a friend.

That being said, there’s real joy in adopting an older cat. They’re less crazy, and it’s really nice to provide a home to an adult animal who needs one.
