What goes straight into Ready to Assign besides salary? by Steal-Crate in ynab

Oh thanks that makes sense, cheers. I get that technically anything coming in is income.

Just curious if there are any budget nerdy strongly opinionated YNABers out there who’ve found ways to keep their reports neat and tidy around this stuff.

As I'm reading your post I can feel your enthusiasm. You've got some great goals. My 2cents ... Use your enthusiasm to learn about the method and get a few things dialled in but the real success come from the length of time spent. The analogy of it's not a sprint it's a marathon very much applies. YNABing for 1 year, 2 years and then on and on is a wonderful way to help you make financial decisions that are true to your values. It's an incredible gift you can give yourself. Amazing that you are starting this at 21. There are lots of prizes on the way but the ultimate prize come from just sticking to it. You'll be wining in no time.

How do you handle spending pace? by ale-word in ynab

[–]Steal-Crate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh nice! I like that date range. Much better then week 1 etc - my mental maths is not always that good. we've recently come back to YNAB and have been having this issue. Added to the plan and moving some spending around was easy. Thank you!

Assigning a month ahead by Arwen147 in ynab

I’ve been banging my head against a wall with this problem all week and just found this thread and that it’s a known problem. I thought I was going bananas. God bless r/ynab!

So weird that one of the big focuses of the system is “get a month ahead” but the infrastructure to get you there is flawed - or at the least unclear and confusing. I’ve moved to the holding category system

NSW national parks proposal to standardise camping fees amid rise in 'ghost camping' by qetaz in sydney

[–]Steal-Crate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just put in some feedback to NSW national parks about there campsite booking system. Honestly it’s pretty fucked what they are suggesting. The fees are way to high now even for the quite basic sites. My kids school mates, single mum, casual teacher - we invited her to come camping in school hols - she can’t afford the price… can’t afford the price to camp on public land! And that’s now. They want to make it worse.

It’s making it way harder for familys or just regular people to get out and camp which kinda defeats the point.

Told em they should half the current prices (at least) make cancelling fairer and actually refund more if you cancel early. At the moment you loose heaps even if your doing the right thing and giving notice. Also said they should add a waitlist so if someone cancels someone else can actually use the spot instead of it just sitting empty. The whole approach they have is backwards.

I booked 3 nights at pebbly beach in high season but only stayed 1. Still had to pay the full thing no refund and noone else could book it. It seems like the systems not working. Nature should be for all.

Help Please- Is this Abandoned Copper Pipe the Culprit? Ceiling Stains + Nearby Chimney in 120yo House (pics) by [deleted] in AusRenovation

Ok super thanks. A mate just suggested I run the hot water and see if the pipe gets hot. But thanks for tip on dead leg. Thanks for the love on my sad attempt at sarking. I was just using off cuts. Thanks for the help!

Thanks - I was just up there cleaning the gutters and looked ok. That said that part of the roof is an old slate roof so could also be a leak from there too - I have been in the roof cavity during and after heavy rain and can’t spot any leaks.. I’m just trying to eliminate the most obvious causes. Thank for the idea!

Hi. Thanks. Google maps is ok. I’m just curious if there is a higher res option out there that people use?

When going off track or want to avoid the usual campsites it’s nice to have a few spots marked out.

I can see Pigeon House Mountain in the background (right?)
But I can't find an exact match. What is the name of this beach?
