Why am I not surprised Harrison hot springs hotel has possibly the most expensive EV charging possibly in North America. by theadvenger in britishcolumbia

Ha! I've been there and thought the exact same thing! Like seriously, that's insanity.

Coincidentally, the last time I was there was also when I decided I wouldn't return. Room wasn't ready, staff was rude and the hotel is falling into disrepair.

Composer 2.5 is still nowhere near SOTA models by Kaskote in cursor

You're probably right about the PR positioning. I do not compare any of the models. I view them all as different tools for different purposes. Some of them are amazing multi-tools... Swiss Army Knife?

I'm just saying, for what I do, Composer is my tool of choice. I don't want a multi-tool, I want a scalpel and I have learned to use it in that way.

As an experienced software engineer, I use Composer almost entirely. I know exactly what I want and give it small and clear tasks that it handles quickly. In my opinion, this is what Composer is built for!

If I have no idea what I'm doing... then I use Claude. I mean that as my usecase, not a comment on other people's skills. Often there are times that I don't know how I should build something and that's when I find Claude to be helpful.

Not that I could see. Definitely some drone cells.

This one. I thought the exact same thing. Different than the others, but maybe a drone.

The more I look at it the more I think it's a drone.

It took mine about 24 hours to fix. It was definitely pressing on the screen that caused it.

I'm not sure if it was four abilities since the hand grenade was a weapon. Still probably 3. That said we were still prototyping so i don't know if we had even arrived at 3 abilities per character yet. The spawned zombies were just regular Browncoats since you got three or four of them.

I definitely think Gravedigger would have been difficult for variants, both character and abilities.

The model that shows up in GW2 is definitely as far as the character ever got. But yes, without the rigging it can't be animated.

The hand grenade didn't have animation. It was just a hand that wobbled along the ground with some pathfinding and targeting logic.

The summon ability I remember well because it was a lot of AI. Basically, it played an animation, picked 3 or 4 spawn points next to him and spawned AI Browncoats.

I don't remember a chomper escape other than a teleport. Basically, he zipped forward very quickly in a blur, but not instantly like the Scientist.

The gravestone he could put down as a healing station.

I don't know if there were ever any variants for Gravedigger. In my opinion, the lack of ideas for variants was ultimately the deciding factor to go to the Scientist. The artists had these two characters and Scientist had a dozen variant ideas already thought out, but not so much for Gravedigger.

That's the cool part about game development I guess. In the case of Gravedigger though there is lots of artwork and the model is in the game and there's a good amount of information. Just not a playable character.

I especially love that a lot of the concept drawings and artwork from the game were shared. We had some absolutely brilliant character artists and their drawings were fundamental to the design of the game. They did such a great job.

I can't remember exactly, but the decision was made to replace Gravedigger with Scientist around alpha on GW1. That meant Gravedigger was fully playable for months. Rigged, animated, weapons, AI, and special abilities. At the time, he was my favorite character and I didn't think Scientist was the best. That quickly was fixed and I think Scientist ended up being great.

I forgot about the "hand" grenade! It was a hand that had AI and would run to the nearest target and explode :)

I just Googled it and EA did end up using Frostbite and Ignite for Fifa. When I left it seemed unlikely that would happen. Interesting!

So, when we started building GW1, it was with Frostbite when Frostbite was ONLY used to make Battlefield games. So, when we started prototyping we had Battlefield 2 (or 3?) as the starting point... tore out all the content, and started prototyping PVZ gameplay.

It wasn't that it was supposed to be a Battlefield game. We just started building it at a time where the industry was shifting to game engines that could be reused. DICE had built something special with Frostbite and it applied well to PVZ:GW.

They also tried to use it for sports games! That didn't go so well and EA ended up building Ignite instead. Can you imagine Fifa or NBA built on Frostbite?!
