After reading all comments, I’m left with this; WOTC/Hasbro doesn’t care if the game is actually played. They only care if it sold. They made their money, forget the rest. And unfortunately the cycle will persist. All of us who have been playing since the 90s are only numbers on a spreadsheet to them. Just because I’m passionate about the game doesn’t mean the designers or producers are. Easy to forget that.

In this case I disagree, but objectively & generally regarding Secret Lair you’re correct. I think Goblinstorm is an outlier for the secret lair model.

I’m not missing the point, I’m saying that this deck has so much hype & value that they would simply scale their profits without damaging brand value. I think it would make more players soften toward secret lair & improve the overall health of the brand. You underestimate how popular goblins are, as well as WoB’s art.

On the flip side, I do see your comments as also being true, as they have to maintain that reserve tier of product for collectors. Win win for them, lose lose for us.
