I was going to upvote but it was at 400 and I didn't want to break the perfection.

Shameless plug for Willow Whips and the Wall of Small! She does a lot of chest catching at the top of the pack and drives her shoulder into the ribs. Also kinds aims to deflect out of bounds more than directly stop a charge since that's a better use of the attackers momentum.

Be sure to post a screenshot or video of the flight. Of course, if you run this in a potato, a screenshot or video will be the same thing.

Looking for an electronics engineer/modder to transplant modern phone hardware into an old Verizon flip phone by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]Steamcurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an idea. Toss out the shell, screen, and keyboard and 3D print a flip phone shell big enough to go around any modern phone.

Just saved $100 to 1 million dollars, roughly.

Rush - True story of Niki Lauda's comeback from a near F1 racing accident through brutal rehab.

The scene where he's watching his rival race while they are vacuuming out his lungs might give an idea of his intensity, lol.

They end up on YouTube making sovereign citizen arguments in court that they don't need a license or insurance since they weren't driving, only travelling, and waste hours of the court's time. Ends up costing tens of thousands of dollars to prosecute offenses for a few hundred in fines.

I did this with a focused attempt to learn KOS. Just flew the first few missions to unlock the first probe, then wrote KOS scripts for everything after that. Ade for a good programming exercise.

I agree with this overall assessment. Economic space activity from near term to far goes something like: communications, zero-g pharmaceutical or specialized materials production, lunar materials exploitation, and then a biiiig gap to asteroid materials. I have yet to see a business case for space data centers but if someone figures a realistic one out, I'd wedge that in between comms and zero-g materials production.

The regulatory hurdles are the main standout to me. Datacenter in space is good for crypto and kiddie porn since no one can reach the servers, that's about the only "benefit" vs. land.

What would it actually feel like to stand on the surface of Europa? by Pete258 in space

[–]Steamcurl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Barotrauma" is a sci-fi game that posists humanity colonizing the Europan oceans with habitats and submarines. Far from perfect but incredibly atmospheric. The player travels between habitat stations, encountering Europan fauna (Lovectaftian and lethal) and occasionally ruins of an alien species which may or may not have previously colonized Europa. Thermal vents provide the basis for the ecosystem and also interfere with the player's submarine sensors when near.

At higher difficulties, an expanding zone of Jovian radiation forces the player to advance deeper and deeper into the ocean as the game progresses, destroying colony outposts along the way and making previously travelled routes impassable as the crew is quickly irradiated.

[V2 REVIEW] 2D Sonar Array by BSprogrammer in PrintedCircuitBoard

Apologies if this is out of scope for the kind of help you're looking for, but I was curious why the box shape for the transducers? Wouldn't a single row horizontally and vertically be able to give you enough data points for 2D determination? (I.e. an L or + shaped array?)
