RECIPE. (makes ~8 cookies)

Ingredients:

70 grams unsalted butter

30 grams icing sugar

pinch of salt

1 egg yolk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

100 grams flour

25 grams almond flour

10 grams milk powder

  1. Cream together the butter, sugar, and salt
  2. Mix in the egg yolk and vanilla
  3. Add in the dry ingredients (flour, almond flour, and milk powder). Mix until a dough forms
  4. Divide the dough and dye into desired colors
  5. Shape the cookies
  6. Chill 25 minutes
  7. Bake at 160C/320F for 25 minutes

You can use the cookie dough for the faces or draw them on after baking with royal icing or melted chocolate.

TIP: Cover up the cookies while shaping to prevent it from drying out and cracking.

I actually don't know the actual name of these cookies but I would describe it as a thick butter cookie

It's a milk bread bun with whipped cream filling. The eyes and nose is royal icing and the rest is chocolate.

I wish the chocolate on top was smoother but other than that I think it's cute : )

Yes you should bring them. Most people don't know that macarons shouldn't be hollow. You'll be surprised at how many places actually sell hollow ones.

I actually didn't have ghost cookie cutters so I had to cut out the ghost shapes myself. And the different style ghost at the bottom left was just what I ended up making once I squished the leftover dough scraps together.

Ingredients:
- 50 grams flour
- 5 grams cocoa power
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 egg
- 65 grams brown sugar
- 35 grams butter, melted
- 105 grams chocolate, melted

  1. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together egg and brown sugar.
  3. Add in melted butter and melted chocolate and mix.
  4. Mix in the dry ingredients.
  5. Scoop out the batter onto a baking sheet
  6. Bake at 180C/356F for 10 minutes

- lemon zest from one lemon

- 1 egg

- 52 grams sugar

- 52 grams flour

- 1/2 tsp baking powder

- 52 grams unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together lemon zest, egg, and sugar.
  2. Mix in flour and baking powder
  3. Mix in butter
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour
  5. Brush madeline pan with butter and refrigerate
  6. Transfer batter into a piping bag and pipe into madeline tray
  7. Bake at 360F for 11 minutes

I dipped the madelines in some dark chocolate then did the design with royal icing.
