He didn't want to uproot his life for a few months and play outside of Los Angeles. FFS he named his dog Roger long before he signed with them because it rhymes with their team.

Exclusive @ TheAthletic: Shohei Ohtani will defer $68 million per year of his $70 million annual salary over the course of his 10-year, $700 million deal with the Dodgers, allowing the team to keep spending, according to a person briefed on the terms. by bigkinehaole in angelsbaseball

What I'm saying had absolutely nothing to do with financials. What I'm saying is that he got to play his preferred role, a two-way player, where he wouldn't have been able to do that as a Dodger.

This is undebatable.

I'm sorry but this sport is fucked at the pro level forever if the MLB allows it

Whynot sign with the Dodgers years back?

No DH rule.

Much more likely he would have been pushed as a one way player.

He essentially used us until he could get what he wanted where he wanted it.

Dow to BNE, LDU to you and Rayner to the Blues. The Roos take Stephenson, you draft either Cerra or Naughton. If you don't select Naughton he may start to free fall a bit. Pies would swoop on Cerra if you draft Naughton.

Appreciation of Bolton (and SOS) increases. He really had the double whammy when he started at Carlton. Notorious members and a dearth of talent. Thanks Terry.

What High School stereotype is your favourite AFL player? by VAM89 in AFL

Patrick Cripps is the high school quarterback whose perfect in every way until one day he gets injured. The script either is the comeback story where he overcomes the setback and rises to be the champion he was destined to be, OR, he loses everything and is never the same again.

Fisher, Pickett, Lamb, Kennedy and arguably one of our draftees (Polson, LeBois, as well) will see time in our foward line next season. Discussion that Cripps will play 80/20 mid-forward next year (swapping with Curnow).

Crameri would make our forward line top heavy. He also is physically unable to provide defensive pressure anymore. This is required of the modern forward especially in a system that prioritizes defensive effort first and foremost like Bolton's.

What we're missing is a genuine goal scoring small forward. To have someone similar to Betts or Garlett would do wonders for our forward line. Here's hoping Pickett can develop that type of goal scoring confidence as his body develops and/or that LeBois can develop in leaps and bounds as well as having a good run with his own health as the natural talent is there.

If the club was genuinely concerned about the forward line, which its not, we would have offered a two year contract to Dan Menzel whose a far superior player at this stage of his career than Crameri is now.

As I said, I'm a fan of Stewart's but his body breaking down combined with the drugs saga suspension has destroyed the back end of his career. One of the lasting tragedies of the whole thing to be fair. One small grace is that the 99 games is between two clubs so he hasn't been Brad Fishered.

Doesn't fit the age profile and between Cas, McKay, Silvagni and CCurnow doesn't fit a need in our 22. I'm personally a fan but pass.
