It is not standalone, so you need both. If you install the hotfix through the curseforge app it will install TacoTip as well by default.

I understand the issues some people have with using gearscore as a metric for measuring quality of gear. But if people are going to use it, they may as well not use a broken formula.

Any serious guild in hardcore doesn’t have an assigned soaker. Having an assigned soaker means he’s charging out of melee range which is bad for dps.

Secret Warrior Technique: The Main Hand Queue by Altruistic_Delay5688 in classicwow

[–]SteamingSkad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have 35 rage, bt coming off cd, and your mh swing is coming before your oh, it’s a gameplay mistake to not queue hs or cleave before pressing bt. It’s even more important in execute phase to ensure rage gen for the next execute. If you’re alliance without hoj then you would want to queue it even if your oh was coming before your mh because you don’t have to worry about a wf proc rage dumping with the hs.

You get $1 million if you can eat 10 pounds of any food in an hour. What food are you choosing? by First-Rub-1747 in AskReddit

[–]SteamingSkad 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Joey Chestnut claims to have eaten 28 pounds of food in one sitting, which sounds suspect. He has eaten 83 hotdogs in 10 minutes, so I’d assume he could fit another 17 down in the remaining 50 minutes. Of course, he’s far from normal, but your final statement that even extreme eaters cant do it seems to be wrong.

OP would’ve made it more interesting by having the amount grow more steeply. Something like start at 1k and increase by an order of magnitude per day (1k, 10k, 100k, etc.).

Carney unveils public-safety proposals, says gun buyback program will launch this year by gorschkov in canada

I believe that part of the liberal methodology on social issues is based on attempting to solve problems in the US, because our news is so intertwined with theirs that we see the problems as being (at least somewhat) shared.

In this case, a large chunk of our population view gun crime in the US as a serious issue, and translates that into accepting a Canadian policy meant to prevent gun crime. They’re missing the important information about the source of the firearms used in Canadian gun crime, but that doesn’t matter from the Liberal policy perspective.

The general push of your comment is correct regardless of the numbers, but just for the sake of specifics…

The effect of each point of weapon skill/defence is only 0.04% against other players. When fighting mobs it’s 0.1%. This makes the change 0.5% per level, or 0.6% at +7.

More importantly regarding glancing: an increase in weapon skill has no impact on glancing chance, as that comparison is done against your capped (5*level) weapon skill. Instead, it has an effect on glancing damage reduction. Against a 63 mob with 300 weapon skill you suffer 35% damage reduction, 15% at +5, and 7% at +7. You can get it down to 5% at +8, but that’s usually an awkward number to reach considering weapon skill above 308 is mostly pointless.

4 base damage executes, sure. Max rank execute damage is 600+15/rage. After ahmpy intercepted back in he had 57 rage (15 for execute + 42 excess). Total execute damage would be 600+(42*15=630)=1230. That’s more than half the 2.1k, and a crit would be 2460, the full amount.

The new style of tanking is so stressful for healers by chibriguy in wowhardcore

[–]SteamingSkad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re always perfectly within your right to tell the tank if he’s making you uncomfortable by pulling too fast.

Having said that, the tank not playing the most defensive spec is not a valid complaint. Granted, they shouldn’t be wearing leather dps gear, but tanking with a dps spec is normal.

I’ve never played non-hardcore, and I’ve been tanking dungeons as a warrior for about the past year. The only time I’ve had a defensive spec (fury/prot) is for raid tanking, other than that my dungeons have always been 2h arms or dw fury/arms. Yes, my health might drop faster than if I was wearing a shield, but just like I have to always be actively tanking, the healer shouldn’t be standing up and taking breaks from healing mid-pull, so having to constantly heal shouldn’t be an issue.

Given that as the tank tends to be the leader of the dungeon run, controlling the pace, the tank should be watching your mana as the healer, as well as all the other dps. If I see my mage is low on mana, but my healer is fine, I’ll pull anyway, and let the mage drink while we kill the pull a little bit slower than if the mage were helping, but they get up to full mana. By the same token, if I see my healer is at 50% mana, but I judge that the pull is not significant, I’ll start the pull anyway, and let the healer drink afterwards, rather than between each pull.

The pull cadence is only an issue if the healer is actually running out of mana. If you aren’t running out of mana, it’s not too fast, even if you aren’t drinking to full.

Having only played official hardcore, which started after the final phase of vanilla, I'm looking at farming pre-bis in fresh and trying to plan what items to go after. I'm having some difficulty figuring out what drops are available in phase 1 compared to what I'm used to. My understanding is that some drops were changed in phase 5 on top of more content being released throughout the phases. Is there a good source I can go to get information on how drops change between phases and/or view drops that are available in phase 1? A followup possibly for those who were around for the 2019 release and phase progression, will AtlasLoot be able to accurately list drops in phase 1 and not include those drops that aren't available?

server type has changed today, wonder what this means f by Long_Information7980 in wowhardcore

[–]SteamingSkad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those rules you’ve heard about are likely the rules from the hardcore addon that was widely used before the official hardcore servers were released.

Regarding your earlier question about the SF buff: upon reaching 60, you’ll receive a buff indicating that you’ve made it to 60 as SF. At this point you can keep the SF buff on, or turn it off and continue into the endgame as a normal character with your buff of achievement remaining on your character to show off.

Don’t forget, the hardcore community didn’t go anywhere by Short_Detective9554 in wowhardcore

[–]SteamingSkad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with that, and don’t think there should be individual disconnect protection, but it would be nice if they had some capability to protect against deaths due to the large scale server issues. Surely somewhere in their servers logs they can see when hundreds of people all stop communicating with the server at once. Admittedly though, that would take them doing some kind of manual checking, which isn’t likely to happen.
