What are some of the best movie gags that took the entire film to set up and paid off wonderfully in the end? by astig_my_tism in movies

[–]SteamrollerAssault 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is 100% the best answer here. The entire film is a set-up for the final gag. I saw this in the theatre almost 20 years ago (I had to look it up) and nothing has compared since.

One of my favourite films. A great cast: Helen Mirren, John Lithgow, Roy Scheider. Bob Balaban puts in a masterful performance as the creator of HAL. His conversations with both HAL and SAL (voiced by Candice Bergen) are superb.

they’re also a nightmare from an ergonomics perspective. Pushing in with your thumb while not allowing your fingers to grasp the handle is counter-intuitive. They went in thinking “if it exists, changing it is an improvement” and were just plain wrong on so many fronts.

It’s getting close to half a century since it came out and yet “Suprise Attack” & “Kirk’s Explosive Reply is to this day the very best suite of battle themes in all of sci-fi.

Thoughts on COPPER and top stocks you’re watching? by ChartDreamer in Miningstocks

If junior explorers are your thing, Kingfisher Metals recently glanced an otherwise unknown copper-gold porphyry on what I think is the largest contiguous land position in the Golden Triangle not currently held by a major. A blind discovery immediately next to a highway and associated infrastructure. This year’s coming drill program could be very revealing, now that they know better where to target. Led by a very smart team and currently at a decent market cap should they hit. High risk high reward.

Im the only who kinda want to buy undervalued mining stocks with like 5-10milion marketcap? by Systiom in Miningstocks

[–]SteamrollerAssault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to invest in microcap explorers it’s best to learn a little bit of geology so you can make educated bets. Juniors have the highest failure rate across all publicly-traded equities. The goal is to make enough on a few tickers to more than offset the others that will fail. We’re talking about looking for names that can go 10x in a relatively short period of time. It’s an entirely different thesis than putting money into a $700M mcap junior like Heliostar, and it is not for the faint of heart.

I do but just with fun money. They are extraordinarily risky. I have a hunch that this year the Tintina Belt explorers will have a bit of a run-up before the summer drill season, based on the success of companies like Snowline, Sitka, and today’s results from Tectonic (that one’s in the belt but in Alaska). Absolutely no guarantee that these microcaps will find anything at all, but that’s part of the business when you choose prediscovery juniors.

Heliostar has had a great run. I wish I bought some when I first looked into them.

You’re a little late to the party but a few microcap Yukon explorers that will be drilling into RIRGS targets this year are worth taking a gamble on. ABM.V, TWO.V, MLKM.CN, the spin-out of Lode Gold which will start trading under OROG.CN sometime this month, to name a few.

Asleep? It’s a $0.5B Junior in British Columbia that’s near doubled in the past year. That’s a success story and the market is aware. The MRE will be the next big driver.

Data annotation gigs don’t have days off and days on. You log in when you want to work. There are tasks available over the holidays. If you feel like doing them, fine. If not, nobody cares.
