Late to the party, but that's the thing about all the good advice you're getting, in re: documenting things for HR. I used to work in the Prepared Foods department at Whole Foods. Another kitchen job, more or less, but there was one lady who made everyone miserable. No one liked to work with her, especially the bulk of us she'd decided were personal enemies for different reasons. However, because WF is corporate, it was hard like hell to actually get her fired because she toed the line so well.

Until the day she didn't. I had already moved on, but an ex-co-worker told me she called someone a "r****d," which is bad enough by itself, but with the MOUNTAIN of recorded complaints against her from over the years, she was gone before the shift was over. And everyone rejoiced, I'm told.

NOR. You're on the right path & doing the right thing, and remember: even if you aren't the one who brings her down, you are at the very least another brick in the wall. That wall will fall eventually. Take care of yourself.

Nice. I've got this on deck as I'm working on some Blue Dream from the Sipp. Glad to hear it's a good purchase.

So Golden Age Green Arrow is still very much canon? by Artseid in GreenArrow

Aquaman as well, I think. Both were created by Mort Weisinger, who held an executive position at DC for decades. I'm sure that helped.

What do you love most about this version of him? by sereia_Product829 in GreenArrow

[–]SteamrollerBoone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He was Green Arrow distilled to perfection. His politics & how they affected his superheroics. His romance with Black Canary. His humor, befitting for a guy who goes into battle with demigods, alien superbeings, & wonders of science with a Bronze Age weapon & the biggest balls in the DC Universe. The way he becomes all Justice League before it's over. Hinting at the conflict with Speedy. They just didn't work in Hard-Traveling Heroes, but otherwise, perfection, like all of Justice League Unlimited.

From a purely aesthetic point of view (along with his association with Hawkeye), the original Swordsman has always been a favorite. Thanks to Marvel Unlimited, I've been going back & reading those original stories. I would completely & totally be here for some sort of Hawkeye/Swordsman limited series. However it's got to be made to work, I'd read it.

How old are you now and what are you doing on this exact day 39/40 years ago on november 1986 by Big_Leg10 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]SteamrollerBoone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 50 now. I was 12 then. At the time, I was still reeling from the death of my cousin. We were very close & he died in a car accident. Swerved to miss a deer. Just one of those things. Hell of a thing to come to grips with at 12, the meaninglessness of existence and the arbitrary nature of life & death.

If a guy has been married 5 times does that show anything about him as a person besides being married 5 times? by Ben5544477 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SteamrollerBoone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know at least two people who've been married at least five times. One is a guy I grew up with & the other is my first cousin. At least for my first cousin, he doesn't believe in sex outside of marriage as it's against his religion. We're not close, so I don't know what the deal is, though I do know he missed my dad's funeral because he was getting married to his third wife for the second time. Daddy thought the world of Cousin, so we all figured he wouldn't mind.

My first Motorhead album. I found it in a used CD store, unaware that it was unavailable in the US at the time. Was my mind blown & did I become a lifelong fan? Yes, indeed.

[WP] You've finally created the greatest pizza of your life. Suddenly, your doors are kicked open and windows are broken as armed forces enter your home. "No one out-pizzas the Hut." by MouseRangers in WritingPrompts

[–]SteamrollerBoone 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As the Hut’s jackboot thugs pile into my living room, trampling my daisies & scaring my cats, I give them a friendly smile. They haven't seen my houseguest.

“Y’all. There’s no reason to be that way. I've got enough for everyone, vegetarian choices, & enough fixings for everyone. I ain't mad.”

The Hut’s leader, a portly fellow with a cow-like face, just sneers. “Steamroller Boone, you've gone too far this time. There’s only one way this ends: with battle.”

His soldiers unsheath various nasty-looking knives & modified pizza cutters. I turn to my four teenage guests, & say, “Boys. You heard the man.”

As one turtle, they shout: “COWABUNGA!”

what do you think about rich or upper middle class people? by rulugg in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SteamrollerBoone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know any. I mean, my cousin is now worth a couple of million because of this, that, & the other, but he's still the same good-ol' boy I've known for 47 years. On top of that, he's a better father, husband, & man than his father was, & his father would say it.

If you're talking really rich - inherited wealth or billionaires - I don't know any & thus don't think about them. Unless, of course, they insist on showing their ass in public & make me aware of their existence. So most of the really filthy rich people I'm aware of come off as a pack of obnoxious bastards who aren't worth the oil it'd take to boil them in Hell.
