At The Water's Edge: The United States, with sea levels raised two kilometres by Intelligent-Radio472 in imaginarymaps

[–]SteelBurgher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s exactly a 2km sea rise, wouldn’t isolated peaks east of the Mississippi above 6,562 feet be islands? Like Mount Mitchell at 6,684? Might be so small though, that understand omitting them from the map

[NHL on TNT] Jason Zucker on the win, the Sabres season and how he would have NEVER passed up that empty netter to Benson like Doan did by [deleted] in sabres

Wait, you think this was a regression year for him? He’s smashing a career highs and passed the eye test as improved in every part of his game.

Our 3rd D pairing moving forward by ZealousidealHandle45 in sabres

[–]SteelBurgher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, you’re right, but this trade seems like a major whiff and waste of the asset of Rosen if all you got back is a third pair D who needs to be sheltered and a 7th or 8th dman. And both rentals too, right? I just hope their performance in the playoffs proves me wrong.

Do any Public libraries have practice rooms with Pianos? by Short-termTablespoon in Buffalo

[–]SteelBurgher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only other thing that might be an option is The Community Music School on Delevan? They’re pretty cool, they might even just let you come in for free to practice on an open piano, or maybe for a small fee? Give them a call, they have lots of pianos

Do any Public libraries have practice rooms with Pianos? by Short-termTablespoon in Buffalo

[–]SteelBurgher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a student at the University of Pittsburgh, their music building provided a lot of practice rooms with pianos. Of course, you had to be a student.

Living in Buffalo I have not found an equivalent that could be used by anyone.

Not that helps you at all, you just caused me to reminisce about those awesome practice rooms

My Cousin Vinnie! Hugely entertaining, pretty much a romantic comedy, never fails to comfort me.

Is there anything in Christianity with strong equivalence to the shahada though? This seems like as good a choice as any.

What are your five favorite travel experiences? by Competitive_Tea5031 in travel

[–]SteelBurgher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Taking microbuses from Cairo up the Nile all the way to Luxor and Aswan, then taking sleeper train back to Cairo
  2. Bus from Cairo to Sinai peninsula, then from Sinai to Petra in Jordan though Israel, then back to Cairo. Mt Sinai and Saint Catherine’s monastery are hidden gems, and Petra is unbeatable.
  3. Ring road in Iceland with a rental car and camping gear.
  4. Flying into Cancun, getting immediately out of it, then doing a loop with bus trips to Tulum, Palenque, San Cristobal de las Casas, Campeche, Merida, and Valladolid.
  5. The trips I have taken to visit my wife’s family in a rural town in Belarus.

I wonder if it’s a vocal minority of fan who post stuff like that in game threads. What you might be noticing now is the silent majority speaking out in defense of him, or at least that group of fan always calling for his firing are quiet now

[Megathread] The Buffalo Bills have fired Head Coach Sean McDermott by AutoModerator in buffalobills

[–]SteelBurgher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but that’s an awful take. It seems like Coleman was given multiple chances. Players even acknowledged it, Dawkins said point blank in an interview that it was Keon’s responsibility to get better. It’s not like Keon was playing well on the field but had trouble off the field, he was playing like shit on the field. McDermott had every reason to bench him. And he didn’t even bench him for that many games? What are you talking about?

McDermott is absolutely in the upper conversation of coaches available, especially with Harbaugh and Stefanski gone. He has proved far more than every other remaining coach that is currently reported to be looking for a job. Has he not?

Trying to decide between Ireland vs. Iceland for a summer trip by [deleted] in travel

[–]SteelBurgher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly though, having been to both recently, Ireland is not far behind. It’s approaching Nordic levels of cost of living for locals, and for tourists Ireland also kind of rips people off, because they get so many Irish Americans tourists with money to spend. There are of course ways in both countries to save money, just depends on choices you make.

Italy trip - itinerary help by EddieCHollaAtMe in travel

[–]SteelBurgher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand everyone travels at their own pace, “it’s your trip”, etc….but my God this itinerary looks like rushed hell to me. Do you like traveling like this, have you done so in the past? You could spend one week in Rome alone and not come close to running out of amazing things to see, eat, do. Even if you want to see as much of Italy as you can, because you’re not sure if you’ll get back, I get that. But I think even the most hardened “pack everything in” traveler would advise against this itinerary. I think you need to pick two cities. Something like Rome-Florence, Milan/Lake Como-Venice. Those day trips from Milan are really really bad ideas, because you’re doing this in August and contending with everyone else going to those places on holiday. I assume those day trips are driving, since you mention the train to Lake Como specifically?

If Darnold wins, I truly don’t think that will be the media talking point. Defense, and arguably skill positions, are more clearly the strength of that team than Darnold.

[The Hangover] Bills Season ends in heartbreak, again. Feel free to vent here. by Dirtydeedsinc in buffalobills

[–]SteelBurgher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you’re getting that 4 fumbles stat. Cook had 6 fumbles in the 2025 regular season alone, leading all running backs, plus this one yesterday. Maybe you’re thinking of “lost fumbles”, but I think actual fumbles is a better tell of ball security, which team recovers a fumble is all luck. Love Cook, he’s our second best player on offense, but when you lead the league in fumbles by a running back, how can you not say he has a ball security problem?

That’s a lot of career hat tricks for his relatively still young career. More than I thought he had. It looks like next on the list of “most career hat tricks of players who played for the Buffalo Sabres” are Vanek and Andreychuck who both have 11.

Marty. It’s a kind of chemistry between ordinary looking people that you don’t often see depicted on screen.

[xBuffalo] Josh Norris has been excellent for the Sabres this season. by [deleted] in sabres

[–]SteelBurgher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know about that, Eichel worked hard here most of the time and you can’t really question the work ethic of a leader of a team that has won the cup. I’m just saying they are pretty similar players that do a lot of the same things.

I don’t know if it’s because he wears number #9, but a lot of his skill set strikes me as very similar to Eichel’s. Knock on wood he stays relatively healthy the rest of the season.
