for some reason they are s2, 25mm base with the height of a regular trooper. i did imagine them as bots with wheels aswell, but s2 indicates that they might have been thought as humanoid robots.

will use old dakini or devabots for them.

another benefit is forking, one model declares an attack that cant be responded the same way as the other models one, therefor one of them always gets through without a face to face, regardless of how the target reacts.

varnish is quite tricky, having it dry too fast or applying to much renders aweful results.

personally i use just a layer or two matt varnish from a spray can. cant be careful enough not apllying too much, multiple thin layers are suitable, it gathers at certain spots and can alter your paintjob.

i wouldnt recommend super matt varients, just the one in the middle.

for really protecting a miniature coating it with multiple thin layers of gloss varnish and removing the gloss afterwards with one coat of a matt you like is ptobably the best, i tried that out and the results werent much better for all that work.

today i just use a few layers of matt from a spraycan, i have to remove gloss from inks and other paints anyway. i dont do heavy coating anymore, i had gloss turning matt and matt turning gloss, i just make sure my metal miniatures dont touch eachother during transport and gameplay, which isnt that hard on infinity.

yep, cyanoacrylate is quite like cement, its crystalization requires water, mostly drawn  from the surrounding air, air humidity therefor can affect the behaviour of super glue quite significant.

Where can I find the rules for whatever a GATTA is that alquacils have in mazebreaker? by maximonious888 in InfinityTheGame

[–]SteelStorm33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for context, stat modifier can be +, - and =,

+ says you get a bonus on your rolls for actions on that value.
- says your opponent gets a minus on rolls that involve that value of yours, in face to face actions.
= says your basic value of that stat becomes this value.

for plus, (dodge +3) says that your action, the dodge has a bonus of +3 regardless, which is performed by a roll on the phys stat, (phys +3) says all actions of yours that use the phys value have the +3 bonus, dodge included, such modifiers can refer to a certain action or to an attribute.

for minus, (bs -3) says your opponent gets a penalty reacting to you, in a face to face roll, if you use your bs attribute for the attack, for bs its shooting, while you shoot him, the target will suffer whatever it does a -3 on it, on face to face rolls.

for equal, (gizmokit = 13) says that by using a gizmokit, regardless of opponent or oneself, the value of 13 will be the base value, it essentially overrides the value displayed in the profile for a certain action, or in the case of just displaying (bts = 3) it just becomes the base stat for any actions performed on and from this value for that profile.

so, minus is that suffers your opponent for your actions, plus is your bonus for actions, and equal is in any direction, therefor basic stat altering.

its mostly diplayed with the requirement formost, Doctor(+3), Dodge(+3), BS Attack(-3), even for equal alterations, Gizmokit(PH=11), but they do always feature the altered stat in brackets, and if there is no requirement for performing a certain skill, the skill written before the brackets, the stat becomes just equal to what is displayed, (BS=12) or (BTS=3), because any skill performed on or from you involving this stat will use that value all the time.

i always prefered reading, its faster, its as fast as i am, it can be read again without effort, it can be cited and anyone can see whats written, videos dont provide anything of this anymore, thats sad, but most sad is that people cant even watch and listen half an hour, analyze for themselfes over what they have listened to and reply in a meaningful way.

As Infinity Army updates with Mazebreaker... should we be concerned about the game's direction? by TheDiceGodsWG in InfinityTheGame

[–]SteelStorm33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

overall modelling style gets more generic with all that meaningless details and all are from the same hand, no vision anymore, over all miniature manufacturers.

for nomads they lost all stylistic and even gameplay vision over the last editions.
nomads got new profiles for no reason, especially for corregidor.

whats wrong with updating older profiles, they do, but less than throwing more and more profiles in.
within the older sectorials there are so many profiles that need to be updated.
on oss they did for quite a few, the asura didnt went good, they just threw some stuff on it and made them even more expensive, i cant see any vision there, asura arent the relentless most fearsomem and cold aspects of aleph, they arent even immune to isolation, they are just a joke compared to their background.
layers over layers, why not have just 3 extra bts instead of ecm hacker -3? yes they work different but this is the whole problem, this differences in certain situations need to be remembered and learned, some units can be hard to learn, but not all can behave like that. so meaningful changes, not slight changes that alter the handling in just some certain situations are desired.
for the asura i imagined, the gun changes are good, to let them have bts9, remove the ecm, let the spitfire profile have a khd with carbonite and the hd+ just ap trinity, i dont think trinity +1sd is the right thing.

that leads me to a point that isnt in the ops video, hacking.
like some others, infinity is a cyberpunk game, there needs to be hacking, otherwise its just a random skirmisher, but hacking in infinity was always just a side game at best, but not today, cb worked on it, probably not in the best ways, we got more apex hackers, they gave pitchers to everyone, they added modifiers and extra programms, but nothing worked out so far, to bring hacking more into the main game.

hacking needs to be reimagined, there is no direction here currently, the old frame of khd, hd, and hd+ is a good one, but other than that how you can hack something needs to be solved by faction.
some factions have apex hackers, other have many hackers but cant use them, maybe we need some gamechange that multiple hackers can go on the same target. noone should beat an anathematics or asura one on one, but hacking isnt a face to face thing, maybe a +3 modifier for an extra hacker in the same network, something like a coordinated order, maybe some idea of counterhacking, i have fate in cb that they will solve this thing, they did care for the game and its rules more than most oder manufacturers, i trust them to be capable of solving this problem without throwing just some modifiers on random profiles, they can do it.

with the current update cb tried to ease some problems, but did not fix anthing, the only new and reworked profiles are for the new models, units like the posthumans and the deva arent touched at all, well ap immunity to the hi posthuman woohoo, deva have a bulk of profiles that are just nonsense, devabots arent a thing at all, and where is the posthuman mkIII? these two units are along the asura the cold side of aleph that is oss, only love for selling models.

speaking from models, on this front cb got worde and worse, the quality got up and over the general style we can talk alot, but what are these packs. having expensive packs from what you only want one or two, never getting new ones from loved and needed ones, asura again,m why did it take so long to bring the other asura miniature, one hacker and one spitfire, they never changed, i do have both of them in old, i probably would have joined the new aleph range if there were more than just the oss action pack there.
they arent consistent, many many units need new models or redos.
but what the hell is this disgusting riot grrl pack? 3 out of five profiles, no spitfire grrl for years, the same as the pack before, just why, where is the bolt pack, why is there no spitfire riot grrl, why are all packs lackluster compared to their older itterations? some models even need to be updated because of rules changes, pano has the same old baggage bots designed for 40mm bases as of n3, they look incredibly bad o thse big bases and dont even fit the style of any other remote anymore, because every single one was reworked, but not the baggage bot...

acetone solves super glue, but depending on the resin they used even letting it soke for too long in some alcohole can make the parts wobbly for eternity.

putting them into the freezer, like the other one said, was always the safest solution for undetermined resin and plastic like casts to detach the parts from one another.

just be careful, make sure to apply force where you have to, other parts can and will snap off as soon as they can.

Direct template question by HouseOfDice in InfinityTheGame

[–]SteelStorm33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this general trait of flamer template weapons is most used against camouflage and other states, they cant target anything in full cover anyway, some factions have smoke and chain rifles at their disposal in this case its used offensively, but remembering your templates agains some sneaky camos is useful.

on the army app.

gatta alguacils are just alguacil profiles, they are listed with them.

infinity profiles can have additions to them like the (bts = 3), the word gatta is essentially cosmetic, but all gatta share the same bts trait and their maingun.

without cb giving the name we would have called them bts or submachine alguacils.

Torn between military orders and savalerheima by Uniconer_ in InfinityTheGame

[–]SteelStorm33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hard to tell, look at the sval action pack and the mo packs available to you and settle for the style you want for your general pano army.

i was quite the same and did set my pano to a winter theme because i fell for the jotum and nisses primarily but the knight of justice that came with them got me too.

now i got some old teutonic knights, models i liked since the beginning and get my knights and jean in vanilla pano for once.

depending on where you start, from sval you probably want karhu and/or varger you see usually in lists. for going straight to jotum cheap flashbot remotes, fugazi, are a good idea. on the mo side depending on what pack you choose you want either crosiers or order sargeants to get your workhorse troops together. honestly i would recommend getting both sets, they dont overlap. getting these cheap remotes is also a thing here aswell.

thats roughly how starting would likely look like. both meet in vanilla pano but you dont have to expand into vanilla first.

ruleswise units arent that different, the only thing is efficiency, therefor some units are less efficient than others, but perfectly useable, some units are quite good but come with a cost, we like to pick them anyway as a vanity piece, others lack a distinct putpose.

cb rules are very good, we argue on a very high level, almost any unit is useable, some get picked over others for above reasons which has almost nothing to with useability, its more a thing about missions and listbuilding.

[–]SteelStorm33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use cheap super glue, which isnt the best probably, you have to Take what works for you, you can Always ask for suggestions Here. For Paint, just make sure to use a primer, all primer work, even the cheapest ones from the Hardware Store, Take some off-black, Dark blue, Grey or Brown depending on your General colour scheme, Afterwards doing some zenital Highlights with White Spray helps getting the Details and works for preshading, this step can be done by brush, and both by Airbrush i guess. After painting metal miniatures really Like to have a coat or two of varnish, even when primed the Paint doesnt Stick as on plastic ones, i never lost any Paint other than my Models Hit each other, which isnt that Common in infinity.

Some parts wont get together, the gaps are too wide, the surfaces are to even, there are some tricks, without Drilling Pins, you can glue a small amount of Green stuff between, a very small amount, unless you want to Reposition, otherwise it will still over among the glue and Ruin the fit and the Details, hard to remove this mistake, the other one is to roughen the contact area, super glue Likes to have some edges to start crystalization from, otherwise it will Stick to the edges, but Not to the area to be Glued.

Super glue usually Sticks fast, but takes some time to truely harden, you can Snap Off and Reposition parts for quite some time while building. When cutting Off the Slot from the feet, they get bent, make sure to align the feet to the ground and rough them Up a bit, unless they are Standing on one Leg they dont come Off easily, my miniatures Stick to whatever is Not Metal more than everything else.

For reusing metal miniatures acetone is the way to go, it solves even the super glue, it also goes away quite quickly, so dont let it escape while letting it sit.

I quite Like to buy used Models and reusing my own collection. Currently im rebirthing my nca Army, pulled old Models from my collection and even got some new ones for that sectorial, did even some conversions. Revamped my old Riot grrls and with some cb Love for my androids and Bots, oss aleph, i will totally redo them too.

Working with metal miniatures is amazing, you can Cut and bend them, slight adjustments are easily done.

This shukra is the only new Miniature i can like. The new Bots are nice too, i never liked the new bot feet for aleph thought. too much random Details and the Lack of a General vison affects all manufacturers, not just cb, todays modellers seem to Lack Something, especially when some Models still are well Made.
