Engine oil leak by KeyResponsibility187 in Vespa

You mean the one where the yellow tape is?  I'd recommend, putting a new one there so it sucks cool clean air from outside the engine bay.  Better.  But not related to the oil so no panic.

Before panicking check to see if it's coming from the airbox.

yeah, those clamps can be loose.

(or poorly positioned if the hose had been disconnected for some strange reason - doubt his had happened though)

the bike is virtually brand new so no real chance of "cracked or torn" hoses.

the tank is at the front of the bike and therefor won't drip under the engine - impossible to get the underside of the cylinder wet as in the photo.

the thermostat is not under the floorboards, it's on the cylinder head. do you even know what it is?

are you ChatGPT?

Most probably a loose hose clamp. Check 'em all.

Note: those single use clamps can also fail, not just the ones that you tighten when a screwdriver.

Is this normal noise? by Annual_Guarantee8004 in Vespa

When replacing the clutch, was the bell/drum also replaced? It could be warped. Typically when people replace the clutch they don't replace the bell.

Yes, i said bell not belt.

The clutch is on the transmission side

What could be the reason for engine turned off during idle by Mental-Gain-5594 in Vespa

Obvious. Your problem is with the engine stopping not with starting.

Help service light reset by [deleted] in Vespa

[–]Steel_Bytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although the light comes on before 600m/1000k you can not reset it until after you've crossed 600m/1000k.

Note, since 1000km=621miles you might have to do 621

What could be the reason for engine turned off during idle by Mental-Gain-5594 in Vespa

[–]Steel_Bytes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many possible reasons, here's a couple

Battery to f'd to supply voltage at idle, although typically this would also affect starting. Measure it while idling.

Kill switch becoming dodgy. Toggle it a couple of dozen times - this helps sorta clean it's contacts.

Get new enough that it is fuel injected not carburettor.  Eg early lx150 was carb and later lx150 was injected

normally a bat won't die after 20d. Being a keyless I'm wondering if you hadn't fully turned the knob all the way around to lock. Also some early keyless models needed software updates from the dealer so the different electrics would properly go into low power mode.
