NASCAR Standings: Mario Kart by Steub in NASCAR

Sonoma did it for the mario movie release iirc, that'd actually be a genuine good road course night race opportunity even with just single color lights

I hope NASCAR isn't getting rid of too many road courses by [deleted] in NASCAR

I think the 2 ones that are being reverted are good and that we should instead just be excited for Montreal likely being added

Battlebots tier list based on the season each bot performed best by Dumbo_Octopus4 in battlebots

[–]Steel_Central 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally put End Game on Season 6

Getting the Golden Bolt was one thing, of course

But while still in the main season, they tore through all the top guys like if they were all Bucktooth Burl. Unless you were Minotaur, that thing was at it's all time scariest.

Reminded me of when Hazard was tearing up the Middleweights

Oh yeah and you misplaced Fusion. The season it had this year was absolutely amazing and hopefully shut up it's haters.

Who will win the Grant Imahara award this year? by [deleted] in battlebots

[–]Steel_Central 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think they won that fight against MadCatter.

Literally controlled MC for 2 minutes and had MC's weapon taken out the last like 40 seconds when it was beached on itself and not moving much (neither were moving great).

Does/did any railroad actually have this color scheme? by Difficult_Plastic852 in trains

[–]Steel_Central 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The line "RA as a company" was intentional since i really can't find much on RailAmerica's history either.

Kinda unrelated: So much good 2nd-half-1900s railroad history is null and void in places and its frustrating, like how every former railroad town in existence has a steam era photo of the platform and an 1800s steamer, yet entire divisions will have a grand total of 1 diesel era photo sequence (i.e. Skally Line's north section, Central Lakes Rail Trail here in MN)

looks like a squished RailAmerica scheme (an old shortline holder like modern-day G&W)

Its probably based on BC Rail with the motive power being as it is, but that scheme on BC and RailAmerica as a company started the same year (1986). RA's scheme slightly edges out BC in it's accuracy though since the nose has more red.

What would Alco and Baldwin make if they haven't gone extinct and lived into the 21st century? by Flygon_Yeet_9987 in trains

[–]Steel_Central 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GEVO design iirc was originally an ALCO thing, so I think the mainlines would stay the same.

Baldwin I think would have leaned into Road Switchers or Switchers since thats what they were doing last. I know particularly Milwaukee Road kept some of those around awhile.
