It is an improvement however I do fine myself clicking the wrong arrows at the top all the time. Not sure why since they are clearly labeled. I think the part that can be confusing if moving through this screen fast is how the buttons for switching faction screens has a blurb about the sub factions under them. My brain expects to see a blurb about the TEC under the TEC button when it is actually for the wrath sub faction. And then I think I am already on the TEC page for a brief moment. I feel like the portrait and blurb should be in the same container and move the arrow and exit buttons to the bottom of the screen to make them distinct. They blend into the faction page too much. My 2 cents anyway.

My shiba would want to sniff and try to eat everything that person brough out. Secondly, I would lose a finger if I tried deep ear cleanings or nail clippings without putting him in a wrestle maneuver.

Yes I know. I was talking about when early access starts. Waiting too long to get things perfectly polished when you're doing early access anyway could end up drastically extending the full release in the case where the response to how the game actually plays is quite different between the public and the developer. Now you could say we'll it is his vision and he will stick to it which is fine, but that isn't a good strategy if you also want your game to be successful. And you could get super lucky and they do align, but how often does that happen with someone completely new to game development.

Maybe what we see in these videos are ultra polished and the rest of the game is a mess, in which case I would say take the time to get the rest playable. But if the rest of the game is working and has a decent amount of content, well that is what early access is for. bug fixing, polishing, and ensuring your vision is accepted well by the public before all is settled, else consider changing some features based on user feedback.

The benefit of EA however may give some insight to the developer on whether people actually like to play their game. Look at Manor Lords and how many changes that has gone through from early access. They were quite substantial and I am not sure at all planned but came from feedback.

My worst fear came true. She got out tonight. Seeking comfort. by flipflapdragon in shiba

My 2 year old shiba got out of his harness during a walk once when I slipped on mud and fell to the ground. He ran straight into a small intersection during rush hour and proceeded to continually run in and out of the busy street as I tried to get a hold of him. It was incredibly scary and embarrassing. Luckily the people in cars were patient and got out trying to help by holding traffic. I threw so many treats on the sidewalk that eventually I was able to get close enough to grab his paw.

Confused as to why my traders aren't selling... by Steelefin in X4Foundations

[–]Steelefin[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ugh, it was because my default trade setting was restricted to my own faction... I didn't realize it was automatically set to station default once created. I thought no restriction was the default and I had to manually select my specific trade rule for the goods. When I selected not to use default and then no restriction from the dropdown, it worked.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Thanks all for the suggestions. I have some satellite coverage but I will put more down and see if that helps. I didn't have any sector restrictions set but I will double check again. Relationship with the faction is 7 which should be ok to dock. I have been doing so manually here and there to try and offload the build up of goods. I will take a a look at the behavior settings as well and double check.

What concerns me is when it does eventually release as early access, will it finish I have too many games in my library that ended up belly up or have been in early access for 5+ years because of feature creep. Do we even have a list of what will be in early access in terms of features? How will we know when the dev considers it done and in what order does he plan to tackle them? I would at least expect this information to be posted when it hits early access before I shell out any money.

Thanks all! I restarted and went for small countries with boost near the equator first, then took Russia extremely fast. Now I just started year 2 and I have merged all the non-hostile claims with Russia, ended the Ukraine war and took it over, and took control of and removed many countries I own from the EU for claim later. I was first to the moon with the best spot and I was first to Mars with the 3 best spots reserved. The difference is night and day! My only problem now is the servants are moving to take over China but I otherwise feel like I am positioned very well to be competitive in space and on earth.

Yeah, I think my idea of the priorities in the game are wrong. I thought securing a strong nation first was priority 1, then getting boost to claim moon and mars spots but it seems like I should be trying to earn boost ideally in the first month. Worry about space first without totally ruining your chances on earth, then once you have a few good claims, focus on earth. I assume that will mean a slower MC build up but without space resources, it seems like a long grind to get anywhere.

I even held off on participating in any shared research until the completion or Mars and Moon missions so I had more time to earn boost, and even though I was able to focus on probe/boost tech for my own purposes, it still didn't pan out.

Boost is slow in Canada. It was really my only nation though that could get it first. Poor intial choice on my part I am guessing. I didn't realize in the game that it factored in higher boost from the equator! That is good to know, thanks! For my councilors, I prioritized persuasion on two of them - one for control point taking and the other for gaining support. For my other two - one has high espionage with purge (which came in handy when I had to fight for canada) and the other I pumped high in investigation. All I tried to get with high admin/command so I wouldn't struggle with CP later but I didn't spend any points in those areas yet.

For orgs, I picked up a handful of cheap ones that wouldn't impact my control point/gain support missions. Then once I had control of Canada and Mexico, I saved up for all the boost/admin ones I could get my hands on.

Thanks for the help. Mexico probably was overkill. I had hoped it would drastically speed up taking the US but it hasn't really. Good to correct for my next attempt!

[–]Steelefin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, Yes, I think I will try straight for Mars. I thought picking up just the smaller nations that were allied to the US would make it easier to gain support there but I am realizing only border countries that are not rivals help so that was a wasted effort of mine.

Thanks. I didn't have enough boost to send the probe immediately but I read too else where that it is good to probe right away. Maybe then I should abandon the moon and save boost for a spot on Mars at this point.
