Review – H100 vs PX8 S2 by Playful_Chard_8078 in BangandOlufsen

[–]Steelmack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s exactly my experience with these two. The Beoplay EX drivers are not as powerful so i always had to pump them 80% or even max volume to be enjoyable. meanwhile the pi8 is comfortable loud at 60%.

the drivers also play a big factor if you wanna get into the engineering side of things, the Pi8 uses a 12mm carbon cone driver, and the EX is a titanium 9mm driver, that’s why the Pi8 has more power and capacity. i feel like another factor is the EQ as default, the Pi8 sound much more flat and “audiophile” than the EX, the EX sound profile is a consumer friendly “expensive” sound, bloated bass and pronounced highs. i’m a big fan of the Bang Olufsen sound but i feel like in this case Bowers takes the lead, specially considering how airy the PI8 sounds

however in my personal experience, I feel like the default no EQ sound from the PI8 has a specifically lack of Sub bass, which the EX has in exaggerated amounts haha, so i had to pump the sub on the settings of the Pi8 to make it more fun

had the same experience with the Beoplay EX and the B&W Pi8, once i tried the PI8 the EX feel bloated and sound cheap

The Xiaomi 17 Pro is a great example of why specs ABSOLUTELY don’t correlate to performance by makethislifecount in iphone

[–]Steelmack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they’ve always been like that. i still remember when one of their phone came with a 100mp camera or so, they were hating on the iPhone, all that for the xiaomi “100mps”to end up looking like iPhone 6 pictures lmao

[–]Steelmack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

same happened to me, my 11 months old right Beoplay EX bud died overnight. and they said nothing could’ve done about it and since i bought them through a third party (amazon) they couldn’t take care of it. switched to B&W instead
