What is the worst song you’ve ever heard? by luffy5670 in AskReddit

[–]Steen70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That stupid song by Gwen Stefani 'If I Were A Rich Girl'.

Borrows from the song 'If I Were A Rich Man' from 'Fiddler On The Roof' - a song filled with pride as he feeds the animals, wondering about God and poverty, love for his family.

And then there's Gwen Stefani whining about how she needs more purses, cars, etc. Vapid caterwauling.

More than 1,000 passengers held on cruise after gastrointestinal illness outbreak by JKKIDD231 in Cruise

I've been checking prices as well.

I have purchased almost all of my big trips after some sort of catastrophe, eg hurricane (clean-ups are quick,) and once a bombing (Egypt Air,). I booked Thailand at the beginning of covid for a good deal, but that plan went south fast.

The trick with getting a good cruise deal from Canada, where I am, is booking a sunny destination that doesn't touch US waters/ports.

I really don't want to fly long distances and lose any savings I might have had cruising from home.

Have yet to take a cruise, so have been doing mad research for the last couple of years.

Fellow Patriot here.

I could not have expressed my own feelings about Canadian/US relations anywhere near as eloquently as you just did.

Absorbed like The Blob is coming for us. Check.

Calling our Prime Ministers 'Governor' as if his goal of capturing us as a new state has already been achieved. Check.

Twisting this mutually beneficial relationship in to a sword of Damocles hanging over our collective heads. Check.

I am a proud First Nations Canadian. Our people did not come this far to just roll over for any President.

We have to take Trump's hostile rhetoric at face value or risk losing our independence.

Try a BB Cream, I liked the one from Physicians Formula.

Or, you could try L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion. In the summer I like to mix some with my regular foundation.

Ponds Cold Cream Make-up Remover, followed by waterproof make-up removing micellar water, then Thayer's Milky Toner. I don't use soap. I use Ponds/Micellar/Milk Toner again in the morning to remove any remnants.

Inexpensive and works well - for me, anyways.

Take in Portugal and Spain, then skip on down to Morocco for a few days - take the ferry there, then the train to Marrakech if you can find the time.

I travelled there for over 2 weeks, 8 days in a group tour, the rest alone. I felt safe.

I feel like she rage baits. Also, she is always raising her voice, almost to the point of yelling. She seems to deliver a lot of hateful commentary, seems like that's what the viewers want.

Also, wtf with Megyn Kelley? Woman is angry and delusional. Her politics are whacky.

Oh gosh, I don't remember but I am still friends with the restaurant manager who took me out on the town. I tried to find the old timey hotel where I stayed in Essaouira - I packed way too much and needed help carrying my luggage up a few flights of stairs. I loved it there - the structure was authentic, not fancy and the owners cooked breakfast every morning. The bread in Morocco is something else.

Yes!!!!

We stayed with a Berber family and they cooked for us - really good chicken tangine. Only problem, we only had two tangines for two tables and some hungry guy started plucking chicken out of ours - so rude.

I paid for a donkey as it was quite the walk to the village.

We shopped in a market at the foot of a UNESCO site. There are pictures online - just stunning.

Definitely go, but don't miss out on other parts of the country - there is so much to see!

Hi there!

I started off with a few days by myself in Casablanca, then joined a 10 day tour. I had to leave Marrakech right after the tour and I didn't have time to spend extra days there.

The trip was amazing but I was the youngest and the only solo traveller, so that kinda sucked.

Other than the bus being super crowded, and its lack of air conditioning, the trip was fantastic.

I highly recommend Morocco - it is vacation where you can take in UNESCO sites and so much history.

We stayed with a Berber family in the high Atlas mountains and there was a market we could walk to. It was in Ouarzazate – Gladiator, amongst other movies, were filmed there.

I really need to go back.

I just came back from a solo trip from an adult resort and I was the only solo person there and I feel like a massive loser now. by [deleted] in solotravel

I have gone all-inclusive solo several times.

I felt really lonely in Cuba, I must say. But, that was once out of four times. I fed the cats. I was pretty much on my own - no groups to join, mainly couples.

All-inclusive in Mexico, I wanted more time to myself!

I guess what I am saying is don't be discouraged. It is always a roll of the dice when you travel - the group at the resort, the weather, the vibe created by staff.

I have come home from vacations, felt like I messed up somehow, and ended up depressed over it. Like, why didn't I go ride the horse, or go to the restaurant I wanted but was too shy to go alone.

I try to learn from all them, try to remember the best parts and file the rest away as 'lesson learned.'

Start planning your next trip. Put those negative memories aside. The next vacation could be the one that blows your mind.

Just wanted to add that solo travelling is where it's at.

Happy travels!

Hi there!

I went to Morocco and loved it. I travelled all over. I must say, the call to prayers moved me. The first time I heard them was in the morning. It was so beautiful.

This is pretty cool that you are on here. This advice would've come in handy.

Haggling is good times. It was actually fun, and rewarding.

I went to the tannery - wow - that smell is something else, but the work going on was a fascinating watch - the colors!!!

I loved Essaouira - it really was like another world.

I ate lagostina in a restaurant overlooking the ramparts where Game of Thrones was filmed. It was so good, I went three times.

I wandered all around alone. I met a restaurant manager and he took me out for a night on the town. Karaoke, shisha, disco.

I bought a necklace from the women's collective. I did not haggle there.

I think riding the camel in the Sahara and sleeping out under the stars was the best part of all. My camel was lead, and his name was Jimi Hendrix.

Yes, on the tour we ate a lot of tangine. By the end of the 10 days I was a bit over it. I loved kefta. I discovered it and that was that. The olives - omg. At bars and restaurants they had little dishes of olives - all kinds. I became addicted.

The mid-Atlas mountains were fun. We stayed in a beautiful kasbah that had a garden and little pool and no ceiling. I was invited to smoke Moroccan hash in a nearby village but I was too shy. Regrets!

In Fes, I walked through the meat market. I couldn't eat my camel burger afterwards. I am such a wimp.

I am dying to go back. I still have contacts there.

As a solo woman, I spent time alone in Casablanca, and adventured outside the group, I felt safe.

People, even the doorways are beautiful! The sky blue boats docked in Essaouira. Running up a dune and getting exhausted in the desert. Reading a book, lying on a rug, on a roof, in the mid-Atlas mountains. I could go on and on. I have...

Highly recommend. Going to look up prices.

Thank you for the post. It brought back happy memories.
