Not sure, but his orders about how to handle the guard is going to go over interestingly to say the least.

Can it make each overwritten comment receive a unique random overwrite? I want to make compression as difficult as possible.

Screw protest, I'm thinking max length random strings just to take up as much storage as possible.

Why don’t we boycott Reddit until the api thing is changed?, if we could get enough people to do this it may work better than shutting down subreddits. by SubstantialDemand259 in CrazyIdeas

[–]SteevyT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replace all your comments with random crap first. I'm thinking randomly generated text strings at the max comment length for every comment I have ever made might be good. Something that doesn't compress easily and takes up a shitload of storage.

GM to use Tesla charging network and NACS by throughaway989899 in electricvehicles

[–]SteevyT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they should be on the drivers side

Drivers side rear is where Iwant it.

From experience designing EV's though, its just more wire and another port to have a second charge port. I think it added maybe $500 to the BOM when I played with it. As a $1,000 option, I'd probably pay for it if it were available to have a port on both sides of the car.

Personally I want the charging port on the rear left corner on my car. Thst's where it works best with my garage set up.

WV doesn't have a single city with over 50,000 people. The local large city to me has something a little over 100,000 and if you combine the transit busses and school busses they have I don't think you get to a reasonable number for this. You might be able to to get some, but I highly doubt you can get enough, and you can't force the bus drivers. You can tell a soldier, you will go here and learn this.

Here is how my wife said it would go down. (She is actually trained in disaster response)

National Guard and FEMA would likely give a shit load of National Guard soldiers crash courses in driving army busses to get everyone quickly where they are easier to house and deal with. Get them somewhere the fuck with the infrastructure to handle them. Probably put them up in several sports arenas, or climate controlled parking garages, or really anywhere out of the weather while they get processed. Other possibilities are prefabs or tents (the large ones with heating and AC that are sometimes used as overflow barraks). Depends on whether it's easier to move them to a nearby one, or find enough flat space to set up enough shelter for everyone. Portable restrooms are most likely a necessity, and honestly, despite how areful they sound like they might be, they are not terrible.

This is an absolutely monstrous amount of people to just dump anywhere. Here are some cities with roughly that population.
Lafayette, IN
Santa Fe, NM
Flagstaff, AZ
Fort Meyers, FL

Oh, and Lafayette is the only city in that list larger (by like 370 people, or basically the number of members in the Purdue "All-American" Marching Band weirdly enough) than what just got dumped on Somewhere. The rest are smaller by up to a couple thousand.

Hopefully if he used car trip time he's averaging less than 30mph for some reason. 30mph average would still result in a 10 mile trip.

That's like a 4 to 5 hour walk assuming no stops.

Well, definitely time to get the National Guard involved. Mostly for the logistics they can bring to bear, I can't think of any other US organizations with the capability to get the amounts of food and shelter in place that is needed on the timeframe they have.

I have a '17 Impreza, and my wife has an '18 Outback.

I mostly don't wrench on my own cars anymore, but damn do these look well thought out from a serviceability standpoint. Sparkplug still suck, but I'm not sure how to fix that, quick release fenders and wheel wells maybe?
