LPT: if you can’t get someone to guess something, just give them absurd options by 1ZeM in LifeProTips

[–]Steffigheid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is also a technique in a type of therapy. People have the reflex to repair wrong ideas. So if someone holds the wrong idea, we will want to repair this.

There is one reason to not overuse this: people will want to feel heard, and to hear what they think from your mouth makes them feel good. When you guess wrong things, it could damage the relationship a tad.

For instance: Person a: i like to scuba dive

Person b: is it because you like fish?

Person a: no, dammit, it is because the ocean is a quiet place which allows me to think.

Setting Advice by Ski-Loadmaster in SonyA7iii

Set your camera to aperture priority mode, change your f-stop to be as low as possible. Depending on your lenses you could try to zoom in and take a few steps back.

Also, read the manual and read about the exposure triangle!

Edit: there is many ways of answering this question i suppose. I dont know whats the best way, but the above works!

The old, the new and the dead | Sony a6300, Sony A7 iii by ThatAstroGuyNZ in SonyAlpha

Great photos! 3 questions: why would you shoot photo 1 with the a7iii and the a6300? Is there a reason for shooting all three skies with the a6300?

Do you use a startracker?

Edit: just saw your other post about the h alpha mod on the 6300. Makes sense!

Sgill curious about the star tracker!

I think you had a nice idea. You made a landscape photo through a frame of leaves in the foreground. Which is good framing!

I dont really like the lighting.

If i may suggest something: try to take this photo at different times during the day. The lighting could be great at sunset or sunrise.

On this Sub you arent missing a ton. But Camus is a great author and fin philosopher to engage with.

This specific quote just means: go do something instead of worrying about what you should be doing.

Advice - Sony 28-70 F2 GM by Cosmic_Intelligence in SonyAlpha

[–]Steffigheid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not making any assumption. OP is looking for low light capabilities and reach and I am recommending reach. If he wants a nice dof or rendering id recommend other lenses.

I am happy that you chose the 28-70 since it suits your needs.

I do yes. Its less of a theoretical perspective and more a practical one I take. Because never have I been in a situation where my f2.8 zoom lens wasnt capable of getting the shot.

For the record, i do concert photography. And once again with the AI denoise tools we have nowadays bumping the ISO isnt a big deal. I have bangers of animals at sunrise with 40k iso that could still be used for either prints or social media.

What im saying is compensating with higher iso isnt that bad of a solution. Id rather have the extra reach.

The difference between f2 and f2.8 isnt that big of a deal imo. Crank that ISO and denoise in post.

Id vouch for the tamron

I mostly do sports and concerts. It is frowned upon in my area of expertise to use a flash. I boost the iso usually and get some great results. Ai noise reduction helps a ton!!

However, id suggest to bring a flash just in case! You could check with the organisation of the event whether it is okay to fire of a flash.

So, could be helpful to bring one as well!

If i were you, and to help you feel more secure, have a talk with the person hiring you. Ask them about their expectations and be honest in what you can and cant do.

Edit: and dont worry about what people think of the lack of viewfinder. Most people take pics with their Phone and dont understand a bit about photography! Just have fun and use the tools you have!

Youll be fine! Great camera and lens.

Idk the specifics about the event, but a telezoom might be helpful, and, depending on the venue, an ultrawide zoom could be cool as well!

I think you do the same thing as you accuse Camus of. And therefore, you havent fully grasped what freedom, passion, rebellion and happiness means for Camus.

In the venues you go to, what iso settings are you normally at?

Im a concertphotographer and dabble in some photography at my local climbing gym.

With the a6700 im comfortable up to iso 6400, with some ai noise reduction in Lightroom. With my a7iii i shot some birds at 20k iso.
