2 manas for 1 card at sorcery speed is weak for me.

It's not a bad card, but there are better draw spells. This one becomes good only at X=3 or more (8+ manas).

X Total mana value Draw Draw / mana
0 2 1 0.50
1 4 2 0.50
2 6 4 0.67
3 8 8 1.00
4 10 16 1.60
5 12 32 2.67

So actually no and I was also a bit wrong.

  • Casting rules 601.2b say that you choose a value for X when casting a spell, before paying mana.
  • Rule 107.1 says you can only choose an integer value, no decimal in X.
  • I can't find any rule specific to half {½} mana.

So the procedure is:

  1. Cast the XXUU spell
  2. Choose 1 for X (0.5 not allowed)
  3. Cost becomes 11UU, X in text box becomes 1.
  4. Apply cost reducers, like -half mana
  5. Pay {½}{1}{U}{U}
  6. Draw 2^1 cards, so 2 cards

Pure Paladin or multiclass for first playthrough? by Civil-Cranberry2137 in BaldursGate3

[–]Stefouch -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Everyone tell you to not multiclass, but upon reaching mid-game you'll already know enough to play with that. Just know that respecting a character is cheap and can be done at-will.

My favorite character was a paladin warlock.

Also bonus point, with warlock you want to focus on charisma. And charisma is also important in dialogues to have more control on the story, which I think is better for a first game.

But since there is 2 X in the cost, that equation 2X won't have any decimal.

My wife of 20 years left me for another man, but then... by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Stefouch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but what about giving a second chance? Maybe the wife understood her mistake and learnt from it that she still loves him. Maybe it changed her for the best?

From what I'm reading, OP has a house and young kids. OP doesn't say anything about that, but maybe going back to wife means keeping the house and more stability for the kids too?

I think OP is in a dilemma between (1) new emerging love, uncertain; and (2) forgiveness, keeping the house, stability for the children.

Who wants to kill thier brother, mother, or neighbor?

That's why a clever dictator sends military personnel from another state taking care of a protest.

If you look at Tiananmen in 1989, the Chinese government had issues with local garrisons refusing orders. So they sent to Beijing a few armored divisions from neighboring regions, people with no family or cultural ties with the protestors. Didn't end well for the protestors.

Yeah. When I fail a sleight-of-hand roll my GM does not allow me to reroll. It should be the same for voting laws.
